Lots and lots of fake 5 star positive reviews at chapter 0 ... and yet i can't stand the protagonist. The MC is a coward. The dialog is cringe-worthy and unrealistic. The rest of the characters are total idiots including the "magic academy" staff that fall for very bad acting. I couldn't go on. If it was something printed it would end up in the garbage at chapter 4. There are a few fatty protagonists out there that are really likable. Ever read Chaotic Lightning Cultivation? Too bad that was dropped. :( If you disagree with this review please provide some arguments. Does it get better after a few chapters?

Wrong, GE is neither a ripoff of RI nor a pale copy of it, it is just inspired by RI, don't spread false information if you don't know how awesome Grasping Evil is, and GE IS BETTER THAN RI and is THE BEST XIANXIA OF ALL TIME imo. For now, basically all other Er Gen novels. You read ISSTH, so you're set for : *-A Will Eternal (I think you'd like it, the MC is Lord Bai and is AWEsome, the ending is really hype and AWEsome stuff especially if you're an ISSTH reader, and is also one you'd never expect reading AWE. It's only the novel one would usually read just after ISSTH, so what are you waiting for! I can't believe there are still ISSTH-readers out there who didn't read AWE o_O) *-Renegade Immortall! If you're an ISSTH reader you'd know about Slaughter and the God right? This novel is about him. It's also hands down the Best Xianxia Ever imo. If you want more objective points, it's that be it Profoundness, Epicness, Depth, Character Developement, it's almost unparalleled. Man it's really good, just read it. Some readers even cried at times with how deep it was, and some even comment stuff like :"I'm cumming in my pants!" after really epic chapters. Honest. You can come to the WW discord and I'll prove it to you with Screenshots XD. It's also the first novel done by Er Gen, and was a groundbreaker in China. And iirc it was top rank as well till it finished. And it's one of the rare novels that grow on you the more you read, and...man it's just really good. Especially if you love Reverand Insanity, I think you'd love Renegade Immortal as well. It's one of, if not the most "realistic" depiction of a cultivation world, no Young Masters-trope, and villains have FRIGGING BRAINS MAN o_O. EVEN the dude who made the review up likes Renegade Imm. Tho, as all Er Gen-novels, aside from AWE, it begins slowly, just like ISSTH was. I'd just ask of you to NOT drop it before the ~300 mark. Here's what I call the "chapter-chart". : --- 0-100 decent 100-150 gets better, good 150-250 great 250-500 amazing 500- 1640 (current) the best godamn xianxia you've read this is Ri -- Even better than Reverand Insanity imo. (far better. Really just read man, and if you didn't like for some reason, reach ~280, then you'll see if you'd have the heart to drop it ;) ) *-You have Pursuit of the Truth. It's considered by many a close-second to Ri (Renegade Immortal), and it's great as well. It also starts slowly (setting the foundation) like all Er Gen novels, so yea. Just, please read it AFTER reading Ri. Do NOT read it before Ri, for your own sake. By the way, the reading order of Er Gen novels is : Ri -> PoT -> ISSTH -> AWE So by reading ISSTH you can already read AWE, then read at the same time or after finishing AWE read Ri, then PoT :). Oh, I'd also have you know that as good as ISSTH is, it's generally the **Least Liked** novel of Er Gen, by most here and by the Chinese Fans, to give you an idea ;). *-You also have Grasping Evil if you liked Ri (it's a ripoff of Renegade Immortal after all, so it's good even if it's a pale copy XD). Then you have History's Number One Founder, who's a "transmigrated MC with a system" DONE RIGHT. It's good as well. Heck, the fact he's fat is in ITSELF a cliche-breaker, since fat charas are usually the sidekicks for MCs in CNs. And so by your logic almost every *Xianxia* CN novel MC is a bureaucrat in the making, can read people's intentions and cares more about position than being strong? SPOILER ALERT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "I live and die as part of Ethereal Dao College!" (if you don't find this cringe worthy then you must be Chinese....) This sentence effused bravery and loyalty. He was the kind of student that every faculty in the Dao College yearned for; therefore, how could they concede him to the others? (only a complete moron would take the above sentence seriously since the mc has no connection to the "Ethereal Dao College". I don't care what happens after that.Him getting caught later doesn't change this) Wang Baole is the ABSOLUTE DIAMETRIC OPPOSITE of Wang Lin. I read Renegade Immortal up to chapter 1100 or something and Wang Lin is one of the best MC's out there. One is intelligently calculative and coldblooded. The other is a moronic showoff that is destined to get caught(and is caught according to you). I have not read anything past chapter 4... couldn't go on... This novel is an attempt to cater to a certain audience. You know, the one that consumes the average trashy Chinese novels writing 5 star reviews no matter the content.

If any character in Renegade Immortal uses pompous bs like that it's always an act that is totally transparent to almost anyone in that novel. Nobody would really fall for it in Suzaku or the rest of the world. Everyone looks for number one in that novel.It's just normal. Wang Baole isn't intelligent or brave in any way. He is just a politician like the ones he idolizes. All he does is being fake and sucking up. If you want to read about a wannabe politician then this is for you. **Smart Enough** to deduce from *small clues*? like that freaking plot armor mask artifact that only he can see? Really? Well yea. In Day 0. Yes. Which is why the teachers were excited in the 1st place, and the physician was skeptical. It can also happen in real life, if you're accepted in a presitigious school like Harvard or Oxford, you can already feel a strong sense of belonging by pride. When you put clueless students in a virtual environement, you tend to believe their acting is true there. Because they don't know it's fake. Seriously, if you don't like him for his (non-existent) cowardness and his uniqueness, it's a shame. This sentence effused bravery and loyalty. He was the kind of student that every faculty in the Dao College yearned for; therefore, how could they concede him to the others? (only a complete moron would take the above sentence seriously since the mc has no connection to the "Ethereal Dao College". I don't care what happens after that.Him getting caught later doesn't change this) Wang Baole is the ABSOLUTE DIAMETRIC OPPOSITE of Wang Lin. I read Renegade Immortal up to chapter 1100 or something and Wang Lin is one of the best MC's out there. One is intelligently calculative and coldblooded. The other is a moronic showoff that is destined to get caught(and is caught according to you). I have not read anything past chapter 4... couldn't go on... This novel is an attempt to cater to a certain audience. You know, the one that consumes the average trashy Chinese novels writing 5 star reviews no matter the content.
