Actually the harem is used the same in both Japanese and Chinese, as long as it's male MC. And the rape types for these are only the female MC modern stories. If it's ancient/historical setting with cultivation, it never happens (to the female MC, that is, since it might happen to punish those antagonistic characters). Personally I hate modern setting novels, but I try to give them a try occasionally. The ones I mentioned before in ancient settings ironically have more respect for women than these
