Humans are complicated creature and every human is different, so you can’t say that because most humans won’t trust people so fast again, that all humans would be the same.

If he is supposed to be 'cold-hearted' and 'ruthless', to the extend that one of the strongest existence in the entire universe who has lived for ump**** years purposefully picked him because of his hatred and distrust, for the protagonist to trust someone so easily is extremely contradicting to the entire story plot and how it even began in the first place.

You have a point, but what if you meet for the first time a person who has experienced a similar past. Every human would feel a kind of attraction to that person. Also you could say both of them could be a bit of insane and don’t think like normal person do.

" once bitten, twice shy" the character should be backhanded at all times. If he smiles to your face he should be hateful inside. It depends if the writer wants to make him into a ruthless and calculating character or a op god of revenge . I'm excited to see where it goes 😂

Doesn't matter, a person with trust issues would assume the other party is lying to him in order to gain a benefit out of him, or later betray him. It would be a trauma, if anyone else was in a similar situation as MC it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if they developed gynophobia. Try getting a person who's arachnophobic to pet a spider telling him the spider is also afraid of humans, it won't work.
