*Notice* I've never watched or read anything from the isekai smartphone anime, but I believe it is better that way since the MC has no idea who these people are when he first gets there. I also feel its better for the reader as they get to learn about the world and its inhabitants as the MC does. Not good with reviews but ima give my thoughts. I love this soo much. It's fairly lighthearted and has the perfect amount of "drama" or serious moments and serious consequences to keep it interesting. The MC is extremely relatable (to me at least). The interactions between the characters are nice and don't seem forced. I quite like the relationship between the MC and Monika.There are quite a bit of historical references and science moon speak. For those of us that need a refresher or a quick brush up on any of those subjects, the author kindly puts in links that direct us towards the Holy Land of Knowledge, Wikipedia (and a few other sources). I also kind of find it ironically sad/sadly ironic that Monika calls our MC, Zah Playa Von Chara, Player while everyone else calls him Zah or Playa. Hurts meh heart a little bit. Anyways, that's it. An attempt to a fix otherwise bad anime - an successful attempt if I may add. Self-insert protagonist now have actual personality, which is quite an achievement considering how boring and interchangeable most anime protagonists are by default. It's worth to give it five stars for just that. Otherwise, it pretty much follows the original story, it just improves characters interaction. And nerfs protagonist a little bit, probably in attempt to make him less of a Gary Stu. And it is actual crossover for some reason too - even though Monika doesn't play that much of the role other than being an sentient power behind the protagonist's awesomeness. While she seemed important at first, she was pushed into the background for sake of having more girls in the harem for no obvious reasons. And harem is not even that important - it's not like story will do anything with a harem part. Still a good story overall though, and seems to be well written too, so I certainly recommend to give it a try

Great story. One of the greatest stories I have seen on here over the course of the Several YEARS I have spent going through HUNDREDS if not THOUSANDS of stories. This story is one I will always be looking forward to reading the next chapter of even if I have to wait a few years for it. The story is worth it.

The things that make this fanfic better than the original are: 1- the depth of the characters (even secondary ones). 2- the smartphone being more than just a convinient tool. The things that I both like, and yet find annoying due to overuse: 1- comedy relying on chuuni and animes meme 2- use of dark background to give the protagonist more depth, leading to brooding
