i dont mean to be rude but a ***** mc is the worst mc you gave him a special third eye that devours but he obtained no benefits from doing so if the ring wasn’t there he would of got nothing but a op soul cultivation that he knows nothing about ! you should have let him devour those memories to let him know how small, weak, stupid, and shortsighted he is .

& more he’s basically been through alot but he has such a weak mentality, seems he never learns from his mistakes you would think somebody as unfortunate as him would be exceptionally mature HE’S NOT . & you gave him a ring with resources that he cant obtain? not even the cultivation manuals ??

& another rank what was the whole point of the prolog ? you showed 3 short stories that happened at different times for what ? im think hey maybe some how all of these dude memories will go to the mc ? a mc full of knowledge and experience gain from top experts and geniuses that would make a perfect personality for mc !!! guess that wasn’t so for you 😕

In regards to third eye and no benefits, he's been given benefits(the soul cultivation), he knows how weak he is, and he definitely is self-aware of his lack of intelligence. Character Progression will definitely take time. He obtained a cultivation manual later(Immortal Herculean Method), and he has many manuals, just don't know how to read foreign languages. Imagine getting a book in Latin and trying to read it. The Prologue is three short stories which have significance, just not now. The over-confident, young-master face slapping, and act first plot armor later, isn't what I wanted for an MC. Again, thanks for the support. I hope to see you in later chapters.

The 'absorb soul' obtain memories trope isn't used here. Later in the story, it'll be explained why that's the case in detail. However, to give a little spoiler, he devours(in the title). A soul or heavenly light is just food with different calorie levels. You don't get a live chicken and expect to get its memories, but more so, turn what you've consumed into your body's own energy. That's about all I can explain regarding the memory detail without going into too many spoilers. However, if he wants to read the books, he'll have to be like a normal person and learn the language.

Pretty much he's not a gullible f*ck and he definitely sees how cruel the world is and all those that oppose him are pretty much doomed in front of the emperor...

He learned of them during the Xuanwu Arc at least a little, but he definitely has learned more about them from Tao.
