I don´t like this book. The MC has nothing i can like about him. The political power strugle feel forced and unreasonable. The background is alright but my imagiantion is good so someone else could rate it less then me. The plot ? hmm i found none beside the MC denying the rules set for magic.

I don´t know if the book got rewrites/edits by now and we read the same chapters or not but even if we did. Just because it is ok to be stubborn does it mean I have to like him or anyone for it ? I don´t thinks so, but its good you do. Oh and you don´t need to be a geek to accept change. And in a reincarnation book i would like gradual acceptance of his reality and not "who instantly goes like my old life was crap and now we talking! Im gonna be magic lord!", so don´t insinuate something I never wrote in my review.

Man ofc u dont need to like him, and dont need to like this plot with him unable to use magic just coz its not scientific, its just the way author choose, mc accept that this world is different, but when its time to use magic he more like subconsciously cant accept this bullcrap with fire out of nowhere, so he trying to research magic and make gear using both technology and magic, plus there plan with industrialization, and i hope it get some good attention (somewhat like RTW). Im not writing to say that u wrong, just to give some of my view, with mb another look at this moments
