"He yawned and stretches his arms in the air. " I think this line at the start of Chapter 47 was the figurative straw that broke the camel's back. Please, PLEASE decide if you're telling this story in past or present tense, because it's been painful as hell reading up to this point. The plot and characters are good, can even be great depending on where the story goes from where I've read. But you NEED to choose a tense (preferably past tense) and stick to it. If your editor hasn't pointed this out to you before, or if your editor is the reason for the changing tenses, you need to fire your editor. And if you don't have an editor, please please for all that is holy stop letting the awkward reading spoil something that can be really good and GET A GOOD EDITOR.
