I won't spoil specifi things in the story. Ugh..... This is a "good" story. I say good like that because, while it is good, IET created a terrible plot device in it. I flat out wanted to drop the novel simply because of that. I didn't but the update pace was slow, or I got preoccupied with other things, so I stopped reading. It's no coincidence that as soon as that shift happened in the story, I up and dropped it. That said, the world, concepts of cultivation etc. Were actually great, as someone else said it's an IET novel. So naturally expect actually decent, and not simply padding storylines. The other thing, is to remember it's an IET novel, and the bad parts? Yeah, well there is a really bad part in here. It made no sense whatsoever. Yet, he went through with it, and did it. Most readers are probably aware of what I'm talking about. Out of all the novels I have read from him. This is by far the worse. And, yes, it's from one ****** plot device. In the grand scheme of things it's not bad at all. Even his worse, is still better than 90% of whatever is on here. Something to keep in mind, is that despite my misgivings, I plan on giving all my stones every day. Something I will keep reading, despite my misgivings. Just as how I powered through DE, because it was good. That also had one specific plot device, that absolutely made sure it would never be called a masterpiece. Yet, it is easily in the top 5 novels I have read. Yikes this was long.

I said that, but honestly it's so hard to sit and remember all the good novels. I'll just start off by saying, Renegade immortal is easily one of my favorites. Especially the most recent two chapters on ww. There is something about Er Gen can evoke strong emotions through his texts. A will eternal is easily there, simply because it's different from most novels. But, there are times it's a bit too slow, a few chapters in a row make that up. It's hard labeling this as a top 5, because it hasn't been fully translated. Warlock the magus world, despite the rushed ending, I won't ever forget how exciting him overcoming a major plot point was. The rest are DE, and ISSTH. The other runner up would be a way of choices, swallowed star(this will easily replace DE imo, it just reads better), I really feel way of the devil could be one of the best, but updates are slow. Reverend insanity have been by far one of the best story telling, across basically all my veks I have read in a while. The evil nature thing may put people off though. Age of adept so far has been great, and funnily enough a badge in azure has been a breath of fresh air, probably because it's magic. The great dao commander was awesome, but it got essentially dropped. Most of my top 5 will change with the completion of some of the ongoing stories. City of Sin on ww has also been pretty good. This is getting long, but even though it's not my favorite. I have to say A record of a Mortal's Journey has probably been a tedious, but necessary read. I feel like it's perhaps one of the best the genre offers. Despite the terrible update cycles it used to have. It just reads well, like everything is believable, flaws are there for sure. But, eh read it for yourself I like it. There are others that I like, but I dropped them because of terrible update schedules. Says a lot about Renegade immortal, considering how it's schedule has been been for a long time. Thankfully better now. Anyways this was long, and most have been off the top of my head.

Totally agree with your top five. I would add Joy of Life, but that is because it is the first CN I read, so the genre is flesh and unique for me.

A Will Eternal(Ghost), Pursuit of the Truth(Devil), Renegade Immortal(God) and I Shall Seal The Heavens(Demon). Er Gen’s Quadrilogy. Supposed to be Quintilogy but Er Gen dropped Against Heaven(Immortal I suppose?). The 5 fingers representing each transcedant in ISSTH.

Timeline-wise of the universe is how I put it in order. I left Against Heaven out because it was dropped. I haven’t read AWE and POTT yet tho. The first three I assume dont have much connection tho. I have read few chapters of Renegade Immortal and in ISSTH still has the clan from RI. Albeit extremely diluted bloodline. They only show their connections on ISSTH on based on what I’ve already read. ISSTH is the kind of the epilogue of the whole universe and Against Heaven should be the first.
Honestly I was reading that for a while as well. It definitely flowed OK in the beginning, but the wedding etc I felt drew on too long. Maybe I'll give it another go.

Honestly Pursuit of truth, renegade, and ISSTH. Are all connected in someway. We have to wait until the end of Pursuit, to see if it's connected to renegade, if it came before can't remember. But, Renegade and ISSTH are definitely connected. Strongly in fact. If you haven't finished it, you're in for a treat.

Yes. Yes it has. First few and those after 27th book I think books have around 20-30 chapters each. While in the middle books have around 40-50 chapters each. Around books 19-27 I think?

I stopped reading at book 43 because I stored up chapters but then I forgot where I was. 😅 Majority of the books have around 30ish chapters.

I know you don't want to create any spoilers by saying specifics, but I really want to know. The horrible plot device used in this, can you tell me what it is? I like I Eat Tomatoes as much as the next person, but I'm still picky with what I read. If there's a certain something, it'd be better to know before I start reading. And this novel already did the 'reincarnation from modern day' background. Personally I love reincarnation and transmigration novels, but not modern setting or modern-day characters
Hmm... I really don't think it was. I didn't specify the characters involved, where it happened, or how exactly this affected the other character. I honestly don't think that's being specific. I mean no one would even know what I'm talking about until it happened. I'm kind of lost right now. Did you feel spoiled after reading that?
