This novel is a refreshingly unique take on the cultivation genre, centering around a transmigrated salaryman who finds himself in a new, mystical world. At first, I wasn’t fully convinced, but it quickly won me over with its incredible detail and thought-out world-building. The system that guides cultivation here is intricate and comprehensive, covering every aspect you’d want to know without leaving any gaps. It’s clear that a lot of thought went into making everything feel interconnected and logical. The protagonist, Lin Fan, stands out from the usual cultivation main characters. He’s intelligent, resourceful, and refreshingly different—definitely not your typical talk-no-jutsu type who resolves every problem through speeches. Lin Fan’s cleverness and practical approach to challenges make him compelling to follow, and he brings a refreshing new energy to the genre. One of my favorite aspects of the novel so far is how the author handles the beasts. The creatures are vividly described and uniquely designed, adding an exciting layer of depth to the world. Each encounter with these creatures feels meaningful, and you can tell a lot of thought went into their characteristics and lore. Overall, this is an absolute banger of a novel, with some of the most fascinating world-building and character development I’ve seen in a cultivation story. Super cool!
