The pacing is too fast. While a nice story it feels like you're reading a summary. Plus if you want to captivate people slow down and describe where you are, what are you seeing , why you are doing something. I learned that the best way to continue a story is to think in order: i'm here - because i'm here i do this - because i do this this happens - because that happens i react like this and this happens - etc. It keeps a logical narative and lets you insert details in spade when you have the structure of the story already
