Honestly, the prologue was really good, and it seemed like this got the inspiration from other animes in the sports genre. Definitely worth the read, especially since MC is striving to let go of the past. The title is good too, it's like an end that is ultimately the beginning. It would be nice to see some backstory from the MC when he was a star player... but I'm sure that will happen in later chapters ahah. In any case, I rate this novel a shield/shield. Also, second season sucks in my anime, just saying it out there.
