So far (chapter7) I like this book very much, it shows a lot of promise and I’m excited to see how it will progress. I’m hoping that the author will take his time with the MC and give him some character development and depth whilst not rushing the entire plot forward. And longer chapters pleeeeaaaseee🙏.

there will be but first he will go through a few things in the war before meeting his first love interest. Also, I'm still not sure if it should be a single person that will be with him for most of the story or if he should have a small Harem that will have him meeting people spread out though out his life until modern day.

Personally I'd pick a small harem, like no more than 4 or something since it just becomes tedious the more there are but up to you
