The first story was a lot better. This new one just seems forced and is much less interesting to read. There’s also the fact that no one likes reading about little kid mcs. You can have them at a young age for a few chapters but after that you’re story is pretty much guaranteed to fail. Harry Potter and Percy Jackson were both 12 in their first books and that seems to be the minimum tolerable age.
