Chapter 15,17. Smut scenes aren't really that sensual, there's no buildup, and doesn't really read like a smut scene, it reads monotone. But I don't really care for the smut scenes too much. The first half generated no interest for me to read the story further. The setup could've been more refined, like the beginning could've been condensed to add more mystery on to what he did in the old world, slowly revealed over time. The novel didn't really feel like an overlord fanfiction/story, it read like a generic Isekai story.
It's one of the most basic overlord fanfics I've had the displeasure of reading. There's nothing gripping about the story for the first 15 chapters (which at the time of this review is half of the chapters). It's basically a log of what he does with no innovation or desire to expand. A disservice to the original characters and the original work. The smut isn't even that good, imagine having to use emojis for a smut scene. (Also, if he's going to be this overpowered what's the point in going to the new world, at least if he went to different worlds it would be more interesting)
On the second part, for more clarification, there were a series of chapters from around 80 up with the issue and I assumed it extended to the newly updated chapter as it had the same format but around chapter 95 the format stopped using italicization. Bless.
Great story with a likeable MC and good story direction. I found many parts funny and heartwarming. There are sad moments in the novel but equally happy moments, regardless sad moments don't really stay there for long. I would say the story is worth supporting the translator + good pricing. The reason why this isn't five stars is the person translating this is great, good pace, good flow, but please for the love of god stop italicizing dialogue and don't be afraid of paragraphs, not everything needs to be its own singular line. These changes to recent chapters makes it hard/difficult to read.
I remember reading this story from fanfiction a few years ago and I'm surprised to see it appearing here in webnovel. I remember the story being well written and interesting having to do with uh, unconventional beings. Definitely give it a read!
Group chat members.
Then all the more respect to the translator for putting up with it. Makes the story enjoyable to read.
I honestly don't think it's as bad as people make it out to be. This is a novel about containing anamolies and what's a multiverse group chat if not an anamoly
Interesting and pretty well executed concept. Neither to overpowered or underpowered, allowing a sense of growth. I am curious how you will delve into further Canon events considering there were some divergence here and there. Overall a fun read, a well stuffed and reasonable patreon can go a longs way in terms of motivation!
I understand. It wasn't the - why did he tell her - angle of folding under pressure, it was the, why did he explain that way. 7 years is a long time to get to know someone and you would think this long relationship would establish some level of trust where you don't blabber your explanation. " I got drunk, fucked up, and made a deal with Alaya in my past life. Hit me with terms and services I unknowingly accepted and pressured to take a deal to have a better chance in this lifetime" Or some other way. Guy has a strong personality, just felt inconsistent that's all considering he interacted with her a lot better in the first encounter. (May have exaggerated the first statement but that's how I saw it)
