This is just the proofreader in me talking, but the final copy behaves like a PDF file copied to a TXT document, which is then viewed through an EPUB reader. The manual breaks get messed up when you zoom in or out. Also, I feel like some lines need to be in italics because they represent the characters' internal monologue and are not a part of the narration. The way the text is typeset can also get confusing because there are no indentations or spaces between the paragraphs. Still, this is the most complete version of the light novel, compared to the two others which have better formatting, which I appreciate. I hope the translator continues to keep this page updated as future installments are released. Story Development, Character Design, and World Background are beyond the translator's control. But we know that The Angel Next Door is a good story overall.

I'd say the same thing about American retirees who come to Southeast Asia looking for wives who are "traditional," which includes, among others, 1. being clingy and overly defensive of the relationship, and 2. getting upset when the man does something gross but not leaving him because he knows that she knows he's the breadwinner. I'd call it gross myself, but to each his own, right?

By this point in the anime I've had about enough of Amane's virtue signaling and blame shifting at Mahiru. He's become the classic trope of the okay boomer who tells girls to cover up because other people might stare at them when the real issue was himself having hidden desires and not being able to deal with it. Amane's "other boys might get the wrong idea" logic made sense in the beginning while he was educating Mahiru about proper boundaries, something Mahiru obviously did not learn from her parents. But now it just sounded like a thin excuse to blame her for his insecurities, to the point that he almost made her cry. If Amane was such a paragon of virtue and concern like he thought he sounded like, then he would have given one look at Mahiru's bare-legged look and given a compliment or two before moving on with his day. In the previous scene we know that she too knew/hated being stared at and would cover her legs in any case. Instead Amane talked down on her like for "showing off" just in order to hide the fact that he's the one who's smitten by her. I could understand why Yuuta and Itsuki wanted to forcefully apply their feet at his back just to get him to finally confess to Mahiru. That would end his awkwardness, once all the tension is gone. And he seriously needed the feeting.

Okay, that scene where Yuuta sang in the karaoke booth while Itsuki restrained Amane and did his hair, why the heck was that not in the anime? That was an easily hilarious boys be boys side story all on its own

Another scene that I wish was in the anime. I'd really love to see how Mahiru and Amane would react to a very persistent, borderline abusive suitor.

Amane-kun no baka! The times Mahiru said this in the anime will never not be cute.

Somehow Mahiru's fever episode happening at the end of January rather than the day after Christmas like in the anime makes the Valentines chapter more heartwarming
