i thinkn those who are commenting shit they are giving answer from their perspective. region to region history varies, so does culture and norms. most of the asians has suffered colonial oppresions and so local astrocities of failing society so even though the world is developed now but the way family treats is different from westerners where the asian family doesnt want to risk the child's future and interfere with intention to guide the right way. however, recents times things are getting diluted .still author is right to point it the way it is.
