Kaio ken doubles a person’s power. (goku base + kaio ken = Goku base x2 Kaio ken x 2 doubles Goku’s power once more (Goku base 2x + Kaio ken x2 = Goku base 4x) Kaio ken x 3 Doubles once more (Kaio ken x3 = Goku base 16x) It is multiplying his power in kaio ken state, giving him multiple stacks on top of his already transformed state. (Goku base X2 = Goku New Base) And if that’s True, (Goku NB(2x) is equal to (Goku base x4) This is the interpretation after realizing that the author of dbz never actually went into depth about how kaio ken works. nothing is concrete about the skill. Haven’t been in school for a bit, but I’ pretty sure that’s sound. It Goku is exerting this much power from his body, then it would make a lot of sense why King’s training was so strict and intensive. by multiplying his power so much in the saiyan saga and Frieza sage, he put himself on the verge of exploding as his body was far more frail earlier on in the series. This may be my own head cannon, but it would also make sense why he didn’t pick up the ablity agian until he got his godly transformation (which instilled within him a healing factor)
