what consequences exactly? I don't remember him doing anything bad, in fact I think distancing himself is better he doesn't own anyone anything and they showed how really they 'care' about him. let him do his own thing stay in contact with Arthur but that's it he doesn't need to be a supporting character. let him use the full potential of his skills and surpass Arthur.
