If I was in her shoes, instead of being upset over a petty competition, I would do as I say and work hard. She still has four years to have self worth, so she should work on it.

Or, more likely, it would bring attention to a problem, which is her intention. Simply thinking something won't help doesn't mean it won't. He died just moments after she saw him, if she was aware who harmed him, the guy would probably be in lots of trouble. Yet, just because he's alive, it's not worth the report anymore? There's nothing wrong with her trying to get down to the bottom of what happened, as long as her actions don't pass her certain line (which the mc can determine himself).

This tomb thing is based on dynasties from China, why would it have those figures? Perhaps in other countries, but considering the focus is China and apparently Chinese-like culture, that's unlikely. We probably won't get much perspective from other countries anyways.

In his defense, I can only say that he heard of the conventional method once. It wouldn't stick in his mind once he learned a method that worked for him, just as he didn't think to use the method when he first learned it.
