I really like this, it's such an interesting concept. Definitely has great potential. Take some time to read this if you can! I will be reading this until the end, that's for sure.

Even though this was years ago...I'm still not yet over the tragedy & I don't even know who did it. Despite it being on the news & the talk of the city, especially the news about the "missing son," nobody knew who the criminal was. I was desperate. I wanted to forget...I did....but, unfortunately, such a thing is easier said than done...

On the top of her head was a red ring, just like the one that GirlX had. Hers read, "Expiration Date: 1/3/2023." Eyes wide open & jaw dropped, she froze in place as she walked on by. Then, out of nowhere, the woman stopped & she began to tremble & shake. Letting out an ear-piercing shriek full of pain & horror, her hands shot up to her face as she began to scratch at it. Falling onto her knees rather violently, she continued to cry out as she went on to scratch desperately at the ground. It was as if something were controlling her mind but, in an instant, the woman stopped, turned to face the sun, & vanished as her eyes rolled back, almost like a ghost. Falling to her knees herself, GirlX reached a shaky hand up to her own red ring & felt her lips tremble. Then, as she furrowed her eyebrows out of frustration, she growled out two small words, "Save...me..."

As GirlX dragged her feet along the streets of a busy shopping center, she couldn't help but look around at those walking close to her. Some were laughing, others were crying, & some were making inaudible noises. The sounds of cars & trains nearby didn't even seem to bother her despite the fact that on most days, she'd rather be listening to music than listening to loud traffic sounds that seemed to always bother her. She never understood why...it was odd to her, even her own family didn't understand it but, even while she was thinking it to herself, she remembered that she no longer had a family. They were gone & it was all her fault. Though she knew that blood was still staining her body from only a few hours ago, nobody seemed to care about it. Sighing, she let her eyes wander until they fell upon a small little cafe that also had a small library for people to borrow books & read while having treats there. She used to go there as a child with her family for fun nights out but, the sight of it instead caused her deep regret. As her eyes kept on wandering, they eventually fell upon the sight of an older woman, perhaps in her mid-40's smoking a cigarette. She had rough blonde hair that looked musty & gross & had dark circles under her eyes & skin full of cuts & scars.

the girl when red halo
Just outside of a small house was a young girl, maybe 14 years old, name, unknown. In her hands was a large kitchen knife stained with blood & her face was covered in blood & tears. Turning her head left & right, she glanced at the world around her & let out a shaky breath. She then turned back to the house that she had just been in & bit her bottom lip. Inside that house were the bodies of three random people. A 23-year-old woman, a 13-year-old girl, & a 12-year-old boy, all of whom had been brutally killed by her. Though, despite this, nobody seemed to notice the girl or hear their screams of terror. Heads empty & heart racing, she began to hold the knife up to the moonlight & watched as the blood almost seemed to glow. As she let the point of it hover over her face, she gulped before letting it enter her face...until the sound of a faint buzzing began to ring from above her & she could feel something touching the top of her head. Eyes wide, she immediately whipped out her phone & saw that there was now a giant red ring on the top of her head.

I walked out from the hole in the wall and saw that I was on some kind of hill, there was a forest to my left and a mountain in front of me. The terrain looked the same, but altered, it seemed fresher, more lively, like humans didn't touch the earth. But...what? How would that be possible? We were like cancer, we'll kill the earth one way or another. But I guess I'll find out later, first I need to find someone. The mountain was my best bet, I needed a good lookout on the land, like a hawk hunting it's dinner. Even though my legs felt like both hard iron and soft jelly, I think I'll be able to make it, I never had a problem walking around, one of the things to pass the time for me. I made my way down the small hill and to the mountain's spiral, so I started up the tall rock formation.
