Oh shit this could become [summon Draugr]. They are basically Ice element undead and like the other guy said you could make it so they are people who died from cold or freezing. Giving his dad and therefore him, the ability to summon those who perished from cold kinda like Ares with soldiers. Don't know if I would put too much focus on it though considering it is a kinda overplayed concept, summoning undead that is.
