If I remember how Infinity works correctly, then only infinite speed can bypass it (If only speed is used). Since Infinity half's the speed the closer you are, it doesn't matter your initial speed, as long as it is finite, it will never reach. So lightspeed wouldn't work, since it's finite. Obviously I completely disregard all other aspects that would follow light speed, like infinite force and mass, since i don't think Infinity is affected by them. Could be wrong on that though.

I'm fine with whatever you choose, it would be interesting to see what could happen if there's no mana disaster, such a major change from cannon would keep us guessing. My only concern would be if you could actually pull it off. No longer having cannon as a backup or guideline is a major risk to a fanfic. But if you feel confident then I look forward to what you'll do.

You definitely need to change that. With how this is going it would take him more than 8 million exp to level up to level 16, so learning the truth behind the D clan won't even put him at level 20. Unless you make it so the value of each state doubles for every level then you are going to have a mess. If you are taking suggestions I would recommend measuring stats and skills by grades, not numbers, for example, Strength: C-, or swordmanship: Novice, or something like that. And in order to increase the you would have to take quests. If you choose letters, like C- you could make it so in the same rank you can train them. Example: to go from Strength C- to C or from C to C+ you have to lift 1 ton a thousand times or something. But to change the letter you have to beat someone with a superior strength. That way you still keep the essence of getting stronger by beating stronger foes. Regardless is pretty important to change the numbers behind exp otherwise it's going to be impossible.
