The reason for that is because the Spiritual Water contains energy higher than what the three children can handle. So, how did they drink it? Use less Spiritual Water. Dilute it with normal water. That way, there is less energy contained. In a later chapter, there is some mention of this matter. Only a drop of Spiritual Water is used to brew the tea.
