it looks like the readers of webnovel begun to reject shit like this where the other tries to force you to wait 400 chapters for a payoff that never happens, which is great. if you like the general idea of the novel, check out shadow slave or the author's POV, both masterpieces that many have tried to emulate,, some more successfully than others.

Also notice how its only the top students taking an interest in him and everyone else is scared. Im not saying the relationship can't develop from here im just saying it started due to his shadow hunger. And then another thing is she literally acknowledges that damon's plan would have failed if it wasn't for the segregation and elitism going on in the school so this "justice" girl is just mad that she and her friends had to acknowledge the rot that they contribute to. And none of them are smart enough to figure out that damon isn’t some insidious supervillain; he’s just another weak commoner that gets stepped on by nobles.

But Evageline does have potential to be a real hero. She sacrificed herself to stop mass casualties. But does that really take away from all the other years she just wanted to be number one and didn’t acknowledge the obvious?

I don’t know if its intentional but there’s an insidious layer here. No one gave a flip about damon before he showed that he might he strong. And then suddenly all these people are forcing themselves into his life even though he clearly doesn’t want them. Its certainly not because he’s a pleasant person to be around. How can she yap about justice when its the same system that she props up that resulted in damon becoming corrupted by a demon god and becoming a monster? And then suddenly when he tries to make a better life for himself and his sister he goes from ignored to hated. It’s not really their job to know or care about damon’s past and his sister and marcus(well maybe it is since they say they want to be his friend) and im sure they’ve experienced plenty of hardship themselves. However i’m sure if evangeline walked by some starving, diseased commoner, she wouldn’t even bat an eye. And thats not right. We know its possible to lift massive amounts of people out of extreme poverty and its not just “a fact of the world.” Anyway all this to say Evangeline annoys me.
