remember the garybeard expalined three shouts that we learn without the need of dragon souls end they sai the speed in whet the dragon born learn is fast, mening that if the dragon born meditate in the meaning of the shout by themselfes would probabily be faster then the normal, something of weeks or months, normaly somebody need years to learn a single shhout with a teacher, the dovahkin did in minutes or even seconds so yeah is possible

???? i fail to understand, but i think the autor wanted to tell that anybody with achiviments can grow in influence in that society right? so yeah the termnology was wrong but is possible to understand what he meant

how abot we call it a meritocratic-like military structure? it would fit better in the scope of what the societ in the story is? not a real meritocracy but still a hyerarchy based on merits instead of conections

ok I see you saing that can't be meritocraric because only the people tha choose to follow militaristc career can achive high status?

but in the emd they are not mutualy exclusive, just tell why they can't coexist, real conflicts, not the whole meritocracy should be social and merchant structure, i asking why a military hierarchy cant be build on the concept of the one with more achiviments(merits) is at the top(remember that i'm talking about an utopic scenary where there's no corruption to hinder the system kinda like how people discuss socialism)
