Ahhhh ok, I see more where you’re coming from now. With that being said, a lot of the x men’s technological minds aren’t present as we’ve seen. Cypher is barely a teen. The main one being SPOILER (forge) and beast is more biologically and chemically sound than anything else. I say all this to say, them being ambushed from miles away from the school isn’t that much of a stretch.

Aria was by the water fountain, her fingers touching what seemed to be an old library book. Her eyes flitted from one face to another, as if memorizing names and quirks.
