Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Let's backup a moment and consider what just happened. Did you know that if an editor of a publishing house read this sudden 360 degree, going-to-give-you-whiplash-with-plot/story-destroying-useless-concepts, the editor would toss the manuscript in the refused pile, a.k.a.: the trashcan. The MC has already moved on from the girlfriend at the beginning of the story. suddenly bringing her up in a point of time and place completely unrelated to her is usually a sign of the author becoming bored with the book. it's like watching a movie about Santa Claus based in the 1700-1800 hundreds. Then, BAM!, a NASCAR racecar suddenly runs him over out of nowhere. it's completely unrelated to the story at that point in time. it just... doesn't work. there's no lead-in, no build-up, no flow of concept. it's just suddenly there. as if the author accidentally mixed the manuscripts from two completely different books together.

actually, having only one type is a weakness and having more than one type is frowned upon because you need more resources, this taking longer to cultivate to the same level. one type = faster cultivation (but unable to adapt to changes); stronger only in the short term or in same element environments; no possible synergy effects with only one type. many types = slow cultivation * number of types increasing time needed (but extremely adaptive to any situation); stronger than single type in most environments; many possibilities for synergy effects by combining multiple elements.

you know, even though he licked the cake and poked it...he never actually applied the pattern to it at all... the novel just keeps saying he won, but completely failed to actually explain HOW he won. it's like watching a movie and then the reviews. but you only get to see the starting credits and the end credits, but nothing in-between. everyone talks about the film with "yeah!" and "I know, right?!", yet never actually say anything related to it, leaving you in the complete dark. the author used a lot of words. but in the end, didn't explain anything at all... they just assumed you already knew.

Priest/Cleric type spells (standardized since the 1970s game formats): >[Heal] (various types, support skill): heals self/others >[Harm] (opposite of Heal, attack skill): injures enemies > [Wound/Greater Wound/etc.]: stronger versions of Harm > [Leech/Leech Life] (called Vampire's Touch or similar thing in other classes): steals life from enemies, heals caster In other words, reversing a healing spell in a very old concept. There's even one type that automatically turns all damage into healing - usually as an enchantment on armor. There's also a couple of Anime/Manga using just this as the MCs main power, but I can't recall the Titles. I know one has the guy dressed as a priest (dark/morbid story). Another dressing as an average dude (slice of life type, I think). And a third, the guy dressed as a kind of Merc, all in leathers (but dressed in drag with a blonde wig for work - was a comedy). These were from several years ago, so I'm vague on details (especially when a lot of anime MCs all end up with nearly identical facial recognition features)...
