You’re definitely onto something there. You’ll see things more clearly a bit later on! Thank you so much for reading and commenting! (∿°○°)∿ ︵ ︵ ︵ ︵ ︵ ǝʌol
And maybe there’s even more going on behind the scenes than that... Thank you so much for reading and commenting! (∿°○°)∿ ︵ ︵ ︵ ︵ ︵ ǝʌol
You’re absolutely right; they definitely know they’d be losing that mana, so there must be a deeper reason behind their actions, don’t you think? If it’s not just about the numbers... something else is keeping them from getting to the bottom of this. Thank you so much for reading and commenting! (∿°○°)∿ ︵ ︵ ︵ ︵ ︵ ǝʌol
The effects are more about utility than raw multipliers. The system works this way if you don’t have in-depth knowledge, but yes, the problem is that their powers are complex and go beyond their current understanding. Maybe later on, they’ll figure out how to tap into those juicy multipliers with more advanced reactions. But remember, a lot of these reactions create unexpected interactions with mana that don’t always follow standard chemistry 100%... The truth is, if everything were just multipliers for explosions, it would get boring pretty fast. A lot of reactions would just end up being explosions, and there’d be no reason to use one over another... it would all come down to who can blow things up faster. The system is designed to encourage strategy and utility instead, so you have to consider how each reaction interacts with its environment, mana, and circumstances to achieve unique results. And as for the replies, it’s my way of showing I’m paying close attention to every bit of feedback. Even the harsh ones… orz though they’re not my favorites. But honestly, it’s a lot of fun because writing is usually a lonely process, and being able to interact with all of you makes it so much more enjoyable. Thank you so much for reading and commenting! Well... Yes. They also have other reasons though... Thank you so much for reading and commenting! (∿°○°)∿ ︵ ︵ ︵ ︵ ︵ ǝʌol
Right? Seems like the guy’s too scared to act in front of his employer, but the moment they’re not around, then he decides to step in. The hypocrisy! Thank you so much for reading and commenting! (∿°○°)∿ ︵ ︵ ︵ ︵ ︵ ǝʌol
It's true; it’s mentioned only a few times in the story, but the only time you can touch someone else’s book is when they’re inside a trial or if they’ve died outside the book. Lucien was able to move Elio’s book during his trial because that’s the one situation where it’s allowed. This rule doesn’t have exceptions in other circumstances, but during trials, interference with the book is possible. Thank you so much for reading and commenting! (∿°○°)∿ ︵ ︵ ︵ ︵ ︵ ǝʌol
Chemical reactions usually don’t multiply the damage for this system... They just make penetration easier. For example, in the case of the carbon elephant, a barrier with a defense of 10 requires an attack of 10 to break through, so getting through 10 continuous barriers would need 100 attack points. But if you manage to melt the barrier, the system grants you a “penetration effect”, meaning an attack of 10 could potentially pass through several layers, depending on how effective or "correct" the “chemical combo” is. However, when the barrier’s magical resistance or the enemy’s defense is higher than your attack power, the chemical effect alone usually can’t overcome the mana holding the barrier together. In this case, the monster has 100 magical defense points and doesn’t have any specific weaknesses like those of lithium. That said, it could still have other specific weaknesses that might allow you to bypass its defenses or deal critical damage. So, the real question for our characters is, what are those weaknesses? Yes, technically the soldiers could unite and threaten to stop feeding the turrets, but in practice, it would be incredibly difficult due to the disparity in levels and equipment. Most soldiers lack decent weapons... only a few contracted ones have them, similar to how our government divides the military and police. In theory, they could overthrow the government, but personal and socioeconomic factors keep them from doing so. Moreover, the ruling class wields significantly more individual power than the general population. While the people might outnumber them, the level difference makes a huge impact. For instance, a level 5 armor on a level 4 individual grants 9 defense points, meaning a level 3 soldier with a level 3 or 4 weapon couldn’t harm them unless they strike an exposed area like the face, and even then, the damage would be minimal. A level 4, on the other hand, has higher strength, reflexes, and advanced magic skills, allowing them to take down dozens at once. On top of that, stopping the flow of mana to the turrets would be certain death for everyone. The turrets are the only effective defense against the constant monster tide, and if they stopped working, the walls wouldn’t hold for even one minute at this level. Even if the soldiers decided to rebel, the risk would be too high, as any interruption in mana supply would endanger the entire city. Thank you so much for reading and commenting!
