Yes. Objectively speaking, mc is more of a villain than an anti hero. But he doesn’t go out of his way to be mean. Hope that answers your question.

Good point. Talia is just built different after hard physical labor, brawling with the other people in town, and Gerhart and Ritzy. But the knights are mobs, so I didn't put that much thought into them while Talia is a main character. Of course she's better. That's not plot armor. That's being a character worthy of being a central part in the story.
I get what you're coming from and you make a strong point, so I agree with you. But I also think it might work the other way as well now that I'm more actively trying to up the pace. I'll cram things together to write shorter chapters, which will increase the pace, or at least keep it relevant. But I have a feeling that a combination will be best. I'll write long chapters when necessary and short chapters when that works. Best of both worlds :)
No, I don't have any plans on adding romance to my novel, at least not involving the mc.
