I’m thinking about dropping this novel because of that seriously wtf that was so abruptly sudden with zero context on how they know and the story because worse because of this interaction why would they be aware and for what purpose

The novel is horrendous atrocious it is not even close to being able to comprehend it is extremely unintelligible with 99% of the written content this author is atrocious as a writer and doesn’t need to continue writing unless they fluently learn how to speak and write english.
