Reading this makes me think of some Omniyoji things I've watched recently, Shiranui, Castle in the Sun, etc. I have a big interest in eastern mythology, games like Okami and fatal frame, so I've taken a bit of a strange view on introspection themed a bit by Jungian's work which... I admit I got into a game series called Shin Megami Tensei and well that's a long long road. I generally am a bit girl crazy so I write my stories with all-female MCs, but this seems interesting. If you like stories like these, maybe check out what I mentioned and Wolf's Rain? Not to say they're related or anything, just that it seems like something a wolf-obsessed one would like if they were waiting for the right one.
