You can actually keep some food warm pretty long in the right container. Not the plastic 2 dollar ones, but with high quality containers that retain heat well.

No, regular health check ups are within an hour and usually less than 100. Can be MUCH lower depending in the doctor. Check ups at hospitals with lots of tests can be hundreds. Thousand dollars are for minor sugeries or expensive recurring medicine(these two can be sometimes a couple hundreds), the REALLY expensive surgeries are the major ones (tens of thousands or more). Insurance usually can keep everything below major surgeries under a thousand dollars, usually much less if you're normally healthy.
