I just counted, it took almost 50 chapters for his trip to get the stupid sword no one cares about. I'm not willing to read all of those filler chapters, dropped!
The first 40-50 chapters are good, at that point the mc is one of the strongest and it felt like it was time for the story to progress, but the author drags on and on endlessly with boring things instead of developing the plot. I'm at 72 chapters, the time si still at the Rocks era and he is still part of their crew, and for the last 10-20 chapters he has been on a trip to get a sword from one of the weakest seas, it's boring, uninteresting and just wasting chapters. I'll skip ahead, maybe the story gets interesting later on. I'm waiting for what was promised in the synopsis, that he will establish a crew of his own family and children.
These chapters are getting really boring. instead of writing about something interesting like the fall of Rocks or establishing his own pirate crew, we are reading about a two month long travel to get a sword and it's wasting a lot of chapters
Marco's Phoenix abilities were really nerfed. In mythology, the dragon and phoenix are equally powerful, the dragon is water based and the phoenix is fire based. the dragon is physically stronger but the phoenix is harder to kill as it is immortal or near immortal and also have control over one of the hottest fires. Marco in his full beast form should be almost as big as Kaidou's dragon form, and should be around the same level of powerhouse. Marco is probably one of the most needed characters in the story. I think the Whitebeard crew was introduced too early quite frankly, before Oda had fully developed the power scaling of the world. it's similar to how shanks got his arm but off in the beginning.
This story is really good, it's not the best but it's really entertaining. It has some minor flaws but overall, and the story si about Jack, one of Kaidou's lackeys, and he follows in the footsteps of Kaidou and becomes his second coming. if you like Kaidou you'll like this. 7.6/10.
I can already imagine it, after the third homage is done with his "will of fire" speech, he sees a raised hand. to his surprise he found out that it is his nephew Denji. "Yes Denji-kun" The third Hokage says with a kind smile and a welcoming tone. "I heard that you are the strongest kage known as the god of shinobi? I heard that you surpassed the first Hokage. Yet was the first Hokage that easily captured all the chakra beasts while during the nine tails attack a few years back, you were so incapable of doing anything to it, that the fourth hokage died fighting it. Are the rumours of you being the strongest, a propaganda technique to infuse fear in enemies and awe in the young academy children?" all children turn their head toward Denji with side eyes. The third Hokage freezes awkwardly. "It didn't work, after the third war our village was constantly bullied by other villages. your weakness has failed our village, if you continue like this... you will regret this." Denii continued. *DING* (New Bond created with Hiruzen Sarutobi, he hates you even more than he hates your grandfather. you received [Ninjutsu genius talent] [Bojutsu mastery] [Peeping mastery]

Will of Embers is one of the greatest Naruto fanfics I've read, so I tried reading this as well from the same author. sadly, although this story lacks any major flaws, it's far from enjoyable. I can't think of a proper adjective to describe this story, maybe... lifeless? grey? All he does is about survival, and I am not talking about survival like the genre, no rather it feels like we are reading the story of a root character. no even that would be better because in Konoha there is at least lively characters, but here, every character is a side character as they will die, he has absolutely zero relations with others, he has slow growth although eh is talented. There is so little life in this story so I really can't explain it other than grey. But to be fair, the story is well written, and it's easy to follow.
