As a reader, I don't see what talent he's talking about. The part where his talent was supposed to be shown was skipped. except for endurance as he fought till he collapsed, as for magic he didn't show anything and it needed to wait till he awakened.

Badly executed. It feels like a Nerf or holding him back for a forced plot. at the very least that's the feeling that I've got, it left a bad taste. Laxus and Ultair are totally fine and Irena has such a vast knowledge collected that i doubt it will be a power, not to mention his dragon side which should strength his body far more than human even if the human is dominated so he shouldn't have any problems with magic.
