If you are basing it off of DBS, Broly and Vegeta are same age with Goku being like 4 years younger. You're going to have to make Zyleth like 5 years older than Goku to have him be older than Vegeta.

You could simply have him use Kai Kai to reach King Kai's place. It isn't bound to locking onto ki signatures like Instant Transmission is. Using a wish for Kaioken seems a waste. Goku heads there plenty of times without having to die.
