Maya simply leaned against Nathaniel's as they enjoyed each other's company in silence.
Even if neither of them brought up the fact that the world now knew that he was Nathaniel De La Rue and that she and he were a couple, it didn't mean Maya's mind wasn't thinking of everything that had happened.
In the silence, her mind was consumed by questions and thoughts of how things would change after today.
She would be a fool to think that everything would simply go back to normal, when it clearly wouldn't.
"Don't," Nathaniel said as she shifted in her seat. "Please, don't say anything yet, not today, not yet. I just want to enjoy things."
"I wasn't," she was, but it was a good thing she had hesitated.
