Decision

Tratatatatata! Tratatatata!

Bronze empty casings of 7.62 mm bullets kept on flying to the air as Torri aimed the mounted Czechoslovak machine gun towards the endless horde of zombies that was advancing in his direction.

One full round belt, with 250 rounds, was already spent on the wave of zombies. However, even more of those abominations were still coming in. Fortunately, he had the foresight to take some more bullet cartridges with him.

Without further ado, Torri rushed to install the new bullets in, but right as he opened the weapon, a wave of zombies came charging at him.

"Oh no!" Torri shouted, panic was clear on his expression as he almost dropped the ammunition he was holding.

Before the wave could get him, however, Boris came running with his AK47M in tow. It didn't take him a second more to start blasting the dozen of undead that were running towards Torri with the firearm in hand.

Torri looked at the other man in delight and relief before he continued installing the bullets. Boris guarded him as he did, taking out zombies with precise shots to the head.

"Where are the others?!" Torri shouted amidst the loud sound of gunshots.

"I don't know!"

"Should we warn the people inside!?"

"I don't know!!"

"Blyat! Then Boris, what do you know?!"

"All I know is that I will not leave you here to die alone!"

The words quickly shut all Torri's questions and the two kept on shooting towards the waves of zombies with a smile as if the two of them died together tonight it will be fine.

However, soon enough within the wave of undead they saw three red zombies among them.

From the previous encounter, Boris had seen the capability of the red zombie and knew the consequences would be dire if those creatures were allowed to get close. Therefore, he quickly told Torri to focus fire on the red ones.

Unfortunately, this task was much easier said than done, as machine guns were not exactly made with accuracy in mind.

Even as the three red zombies continued to come closer and closer, only one was hit by the flurry of the machine gun shots.

The last two charged towards them with blinding speed. Fortunately, Boris was able to move out of the way and use his handgun to send the monster a dozen shots in close range. However, the monster also moved as agile, and his handgun ran out of bullets before he could shoot it on the head.

Boris decided to get close and pin down the zombie before hitting its head on the nearby rock, cracking it open. Right as he felt the monster die, he looked towards Torri, shouting as he saw the man being tackled by the monster and bit on the shoulder.

"Arrghhhhhhhh!!!"

"Blyat!" Boris cursed as he grabbed the AK47M he dropped before, while fumbling on his belt to retrieve the cartridge. There was no way to get a clean shot, at least, not without hitting his lover.

"No, no!!"

While he panicked, suddenly a figure jumped from the shadow and took two shots, aimed directly at the red monster's head. With surprising agility, the figure kicked the red zombie and threw it off away from Torri.

Torri was surprised when he saw who the figure was and shouted, "Young master!!"

-------

Just a few minutes ago, Viktor was ready to leave everything behind him and go with captain Patroski and another one of his men.

However, as he stared through the endless landscape of snow and saw darkness in front of him once again, the dilemma in his mind made itself known yet again. Is this what his future will be, walking the dark night surrounded by monster only thinking about himself

The captain seemed to also realize what was bothering his master and said.

"Master, don't you worry about them. We can't save them all. Those spoiled rich kids would not survive being outside for an hour. They are the same as dead.."

Captain Patroski was trying to console him and he knew it, but his words only bothered him more.

Viktor glanced at him and said, "I am one of those spoiled rich kids too, you know…"

"No no... Master Viktor. You are a Romanov... Of course you are different."

On any other day, Viktor will be flattered by such words but not today. His head of security just reminded him more and more of his callous father.

The captain thought about something and said.

"Young master, i know you are different... especially with what you did 5 years ago.."

Hearing that Viktor suddenly snapped

"No... i am not that person..."

"Master Viktor... Who are you trying to fool? Me or your self? Your order to kill your friend Yugo was a proof of who you are.. a Romanov"

Hearing this only made Viktor made up his mind and said

"We are going back"

These words made the two bodyguards stop in their steps. Captain Patroski, however, turned around and tried to convince him one more time. Alas, he was welcomed with another rejection.

"No, Captain, we can't just leave like this... we still have time to do something" said Viktor resolutely. "You two.. Follow me!"

The captain turned and looked toward the other bodyguard who seemed ready to follow orders. All of a sudden, the captain pulled out his gun and shot.

Bangg!!

Viktor turned around right as the other bodyguard fell with a gaping wound on his head. The sight of his blood staining the snow white shocked him and made his blood boil.

"What the fuck?!"

Captain Patroski, aimed the gun toward him next and said.

"I have had enough with all of you yapping these last two years… You are all little bastards, singing and drinking everyday while the world is on fire!"

Hearing the captain's words, Viktor showed a look of surprise but remained calm.

"You are betraying the family, captain?"

People being placed in positions as head of security like him, those who were selected to accompany the family into the bunkers were all selected from the best, especially Patroski who has served in the family for more than 10 years. Hence it was quite surprising to see the man was turning on him.

The captain half laughed when he looked at Viktor and said.

"Look at how the world has become! I am sure Romanov is no more!." He grinned as he prepared himself to pull the trigger.

Unfortunately for the deranged man, Viktor was ready. With his newfound agility, the captain didn't realize that Viktor was able to throw his dagger as quickly as he pulled the trigger.

Bammmm!!!!

Spllaaaattt!!

The dagger pierced the captain's shoulder, but Viktor didn't escape unscathed as the bullet pierced his waist. Albeit it was just a graze, it had already started to bleed.

Before the captain could take another shot, Viktor was already running through the woods. He stopped to grit his teeth and hold in the pain for a moment, right as he heard the captain shout from behind.

"Fine! Just die with the rest of them! You deserve it!"

Those words actually quite bothered him, as the man has been in the family for a long time. The betrayal he committed really made Viktor angry.

[You have 26 minutes left]

Seeing the amount of time left, Viktor swiftly increased his pace and returned to the bunker, only to see Boris and Torri still shooting at the enemies which led to him saving his men.

"Young master!" Boris called out.

Seeing the incoming hordes, to unleash the anger that had been building up within him, Viktor snatched the machine gun from Torri, aimed it at those monsters and pressed the trigger, releasing a hell of bullets.

Tratatatatatat!

Just as he hoped for, a notification came to his mind.

[You have received 1 points of spirit force]

[You have received 1 points in endurance]

Viktor let out a hearty laugh, all but forgetting about the wound in his waist as the same notification kept coming to him.

Some came from pure emotion

Some just out of spite
