Delivery 0: Prologue

How did I end up here again? The face of a big burly one eyed man staring down in once was a hotel room turned into an armory. All of these weapons are just for protecting some food? "Hey Junker." The man's voice shot through the cold silence in the room and gave me a jolt.

"huh? Yeah? What?"

"You got a name? I need something to write on the tag here." the man's one eye glanced up from whatever he was writing on.

"Yaki sir! My name is Yaki." It had been a while since I talked to people. The whole thing was still kind of new to me.

"Well 'Yaki' I'm Boatz. At least that's what they call me."

"Nice to meet you sir." he glared at me. What? Is it not normal to say that? I was just trying to be polite. Silence once again filled the room. After around 10 minutes he stuck a name tag to jacket and then pointed at a paper on the ground.

"That's a map of Toko-York. You'll be delivering me the paper balls in your bag. I'll be at the area marked on that map. Make it to me alive before the sun sets and you'll have a job." He began to leave but stopped in the doorway. He peered over his shoulder at me.

"And don't call me 'Sir' again. Got that Junker?" I quickly grabbed the map and put on the provided Food Line delivery bag.I thought about how I even ended up in this situation.

It wasn't too long ago that I met Boatz. When he met me I was a junker. I would scavenge up any trash and scrap that I could find just to scrape by with a joke of a life. Junkers don't make enough chips for anything but hard tack. That hard tack might have kept me alive but I didn't feel like I was living. Some streeters, stupid punks who think they own the world, had brought me to death's door after taking all my scrap.

That's when I met Boatz. He offered me a job at Food Line. he said it would be a dream come true to work for the food Supplier left in the world! It should have been at least. I decided that I better get going if I wanted to meet Boatz in time.

Time until Sunset 6 hours.
