Chapter 67: No Giving

Xiaoqing showered me with compliments to the point where I blushed and felt hot all over. I had no idea I was perceived so highly. When Xiaoqing finally finished, I let out a long sigh of relief.

I looked at Xiaoqing, "I feel your affection, but I truly don't have romantic feelings for you, so I'm sorry."

But Xiaoqing seemed unconcerned, "It's okay, Wen. Even without a title, I just want to be with you."

I was at my wits' end and made an excuse that I had other things to take care of, finally managing to leave the break room.

I was in a daze the entire afternoon, so much so that it often took several calls from Mei before I snapped back to reality.

Mei, seeing my distracted state, was quite bewildered, "What's wrong with you? Lost your soul?" I sighed and went back to the office with Mei before I dared to speak up, "Mei, what's the deal with the new girl, Xiaoqing?"

Mei looked puzzled, "Xiaoqing? That girl is great—she's diligent at work, and her looks are beyond reproach."
