I held her thin waist securely in my arms in an attempt to keep her from falling exposing me to all the curves that marbled her beautiful body. Even under the tight fitting dress every dimple and curve could be felt perfectly aligning the dress, filling it up in just the right places. Her smell also engulfed me in a warm embrace leaving me feeling intoxicated. For a minute my eyes tore from the piercing gaze of hers and settled on her lips that were coated in bright red lipstick that popped against her dark skin. Her lips were both plump and inviting forming the perfect shape of a heart, it left my mind wondering if they were just as soft as they looked. Seeing her from afar on that day, I knew she was beautiful but now holding her so close to me she was almost breathtaking.

Chp 6: Side walking

Logan P.O.V

The city's largest building brightly sparkled from the sun reflecting off all the windows, making it an illuminating sight for all newcomers that come to this city.

This building standing proudly in the middle of this city was it's crown jewel, before it was here this city was poor it only accustomed a measly small buildings and a even smaller school with a population of only 200 that housed mostly old white heads.

But it all changed once one woman moved here and started her business it completely changed the whole history of this city. She used her money to build buildings the size of skyscrapers, bigger schools, malls, clubs, and a lot more.

After a while, people from all over the world came pouring in just to be a part of the city and to start a new life.

The woman who all made this possible was named Patience Miller, a successful  A lot of people looked up to her as an icon, and even I supported her even though I've never seen her face to face.

But the older people that already lived here were not so pleased and saw her as a nuisance to their old way of life. Some even threatened her to leave, but that never stopped her it only caused her business to expand.

Thanks to her company it supplied people with plenty of jobs including me, when I first moved here from the country side I was out looking for work so i decided to apply at one of her biggest companies, and I was instantly hired on the spot.

Now I've been here for less than a year, but the job basically topped most jobs I've worked at, and believe me, I've done some pretty gruesome jobs.

I work as a janitor on the night shift, cleaning out offices after a busy work day.

Okay this job might not be at the top of most people's bucket list, especially since I'm working for such a good company I could have ended up with a better job, but the pay was really good, I don't have anyone standing over me, plus I love to clean too so I saw it as a win situation.

Since I worked in the evening It basically left the whole day for me to do whatever I want. I wasn't the type to just sleep the whole day away, so I got a job as a dog walker.

The job I got wasn't exactly for the pay it was mostly because I loved animals of all types. I've been infauted with them since I was little.

My parents constantly called me a wild child since I loved spending more time outside than in a shut-in and confond space.

"Whoa! Dixie slow down, and Alex, you keep up. Why are you guys so hyper today? What did you eat this morning? "

I laughed slightly, tugging on the leashes to slow down the overly excited dogs, practically dragging my large frame.

I had a total of 6 dogs I was walking, including mine, which were 7 super hyper dogs that I had to tangle with while walking down a busy street to the dog park.

After 13 minutes of trying not to get hit by cars and stopping two dogs from assaulting a stray cat, we finally made it to the dog park in one piece, thank god!

One by one, I let each one of them off the leash, each one picking up dirt, trying to go play among the other dogs that were present at the park.

When i finally got to my dog loki, he was patiently waiting with his tongue, lapping outside his mouth and tail wagging steadily.

"Sorry bud, I had to release the others before they chewed each other legs off." I chuckled, unchainimg the leash from his collar only to get a whimper back with a head tilt in answer.

I rubbed his fluffy head as he gave me a quick lick on the hand before padding off to play with the rest of the dogs in the park.

I sighed, crossed my arms, and watched all the dogs playing and running around without a care in the world. I was busy watching the happy dogs fumbling around that I didn't notice someone had settled next to me until their voice brought me out of my thoughts.

"Good morning, logan. I haven't seen you here in a while." A young woman about my age with blond hair and bright green eyes named Julie smiled brightly at me.

"I've been really busy. I've just started a new job and am trying to get accustomed to it." I stuffed my hands in my pockets, looking down at her then back at the dogs.

"Oh really, that's good, see your already starting to get in the flow of living here in the big city," she chirped, bumping into my large frame playfully.

I smiled, thanking her before crouching down as a black boxer came flying at me, jumping on me and licking me excitedly.

"Hey there, how are you doing, buddy? You're so hyper." I laughed, rubbing behind its ears and stomach as it licked my hands and cheek before running off somewhere

I stood up, stretching out my strained shirt against my biceps, before turning back to Julia to see her already staring at me with big eyes.

"What's wrong?" I asked, confused

"N-Nothing anyway. Where do you work now?" she asked, swaying back and forth on her heel.

"Oh, I work at Miller Corp. You know the big buildings in the middle of the city. That's where I work."

In a split second, I saw as her face went from one of interest to a concerned one.

"Wow, Miller corp, that's a pretty high-class place to work,"

"Yeah, it's great everybody super nice and the pays really good." I pridefully beamed with a smirk.

"I'm surprised you're able to work under that lady Ms.Miller" she scoffed with a sour expression and her arms crossed.

I arched a brow, confused at her backhanded comment. I could tell she knew I was confused because she sighed and began to elaborate.

"Haven't you heard the rumors about her they said that she's mean like the devil and manipulates innocent people to do what she wants by threatening to fire them from their jobs. Plus I heard from a friend that used to work with her that she slept with every man she came in contact with that's how she's able to expand her business so fast in such a short amount of time I don't think it's a good idea for someone like you to work under her" she said her voice laced with malice towards Ms.Miller.

I have heard some rumors about Ms. Miller coming from a lot of people, each one never the same, but I'm not the type of person to judge somebody based on what I heard.

It like judging all bull dogs based on their size and saying they'll all turn out to be aggressive it all depends on their trainer.

"Well I can't say for myself what type of person she is hopefully when I get to meet her I can determine it for myself" I shrugged, looking back at the dogs as I tuned out Julia while she rambled on about more rumors.

While I was looking around out of the corner of my eye, I saw loki go darting across the park and out of the fence after a couple that just left. My eyes widened before I took off, chasing after loki called his name loudly.

Once I reached outside of the park, I frantically looked around for loki with my heart pounding loudly in my ears. A loud scream from around the block caught my ear, making me run in that direction.

My head was pounding with thoughts of loki possibly getting hit by a car or, worse, dead. That thought pushed me to run faster, even dodging on-going traffic. Once I reached the other side, I rounded the corner to see loki jumping on a woman that was knocked off her feet by Loki's big size.

She was frozen in place with her eyes firmly closed and head turnt to the side as loki repeatedly licked her face.

I sprung into action, grabbed loki by his collar, and firmly pulled him away from the woman but forcefully yanked forward as loki lunged back in her direction, barking loudly.

"Loki, stop you're making a scene. I'm so sorry. He's never reacted like this before." I apologized sincerely, looking at her for a brief second for her eyes to lock onto mine.

For a moment, I felt like I got sucked into her beautiful brown eyes. My eyes couldn't look away from hers that held no emotion, but one that could slightly be seen it was fear.

I was brought out of my daydream when a voice screamed with malice.

"Are you gonna get your damn dog or keep staring at her like she foreign?"

I looked back down at loki, still squirming in my grip and barking loudly, trying to get back at the women. I huffed and threw a firm sit at loki, my voice dropping to a stern base, alerting him know I wasn't playing that made him comply immediately.

I turned back towards both of the ladies to see her friend already helping her to her feet as she dusted her off and checked if she was okay.

I inwardly cringed, looking at the mess loki's paw prints left behind on her once white blouse.

"I'm so sorry he just ran off on his own. That's still no excuse, but if you want, my house isn't far from here. I can clean your clothes really quick,"

I threw out quickly to make up as much as possible for Loki's behavior.

The woman loki attacked looked up at me from under her eyelashes, her face void from any emotion, making my heart beat to quicken and my breath to get caught in my throat.

I've seen a lot of pretty women and had been raised around a lot of strong-willed women, but she had this aura about her that screamed power even with her outfit completely messed up she looked stunning

She only shook her head with a low I'm good and a sigh before she turned back the way she was coming from and walked away her friend gave me one more look before doing the same.

I snapped out of my daydream, watching them walk away as my heart beat quickened.

"Wait are you sure I don't mind it's the least I could do If not I could at least get you something to eat to make up for it" I yelled back my voice laced with worry.

For a brief moment, she turned her head slightly back at me, making my heart skip a beat before she continued walking on.

"She's good thanks though, just learn to control your dog," her friend yelled back with sass, not even turning back to me.

Guilt was eating me alive like a parasite. I let out a loud sigh and rubbed my hand through my hair, looking up at the sky.

Loki barked up at me, panting heavily and wagging his tail like the innocent criminal he was. I looked down at him and shook my head.

" thanks alot bud"
