Backstory: Zero, the only successful test subject to have survived an unknown drug, is saved by the government and sent to an orphanage. There he continues to live a quiet life, reading to pass the time and to put his acquired abilities of photographic memory and enhanced IQ to use. He seeks to discover the truths about the world and to find his true purpose for existing. Unfortunately during his quest for truth, Zero dies and reincarnates into another world. On his journey to explore the world, he realises that corruption lurks in plain sight throughout a majority of the worlds and dimensions he travels to. He learns that the cost of living is more than what you can pay with as the only payment accepted is death and with it your experiences, memories and nutrients go towards the corrupted. ----------- Author’s note: At the start, it may seem bland and unappealing but bear with me! Revenge is a dish best served cold. Except I find that it's infinitely better poisoned, especially ingested by the enemy of one's choosing. Now don't get me wrong there are definitely better methods of poison, but I daresay poisoning food just has that classic edge to it. Tetrodotoxin, Amatoxin, Polonium, & my favorite Belladonna. I prefer things not to get to messy or difficult so I find that the reliable four get the job done.
