Time of Liberation

Jin and Thirteen walked side by side on the streets.

It was dark outside, the tenth district illuminated only by neon signs.

These neon signs came from the ninth and second districts, which bordered the tenth.

Their light illuminated Jin and Thirteen as if mocking them from the skyscrapers, taller than any building in the tenth.

Rain was still falling on them.

They strode through the streets while everyone around them, seeking weak protection from the rain, stared at them with terror-filled eyes.

They had good reason to shake in their rain-filled boots.

Both wore brown coats, adorned with terrifying stag-like masks that resembled ancient monsters.

They weren't just monsters; Jin was instantly recognized by everyone.

In the tenth district, words traveled faster than anything else, even Jin.

Everyone knew the day the Liberation Front arrived.

Some called them heroes, some called them crazy.

But most called them... dangerous.

Not because of their own strength that led them to victory.

No.

It was the appearance of a true monster.

Jin.

The moment he joined the fray, the tide of battle shifted.

With him, not even their Cyphers could match Jin's power.

()

No one dared to even approach to two, one on, they feared Jin, but most importantly…

After they saw Jin's power, the fact that another one was beside him, there was another one.

Everyone was afraid of the power of the one beside Jin.

The two of them calmly strode through the streets, the broken asphalt on the ground began to get filled in by the rainwater that spread through the streets.

'I don't have to suffer much more in this filthy place.'

That was the only thing that calmed Jin down.

The two of them began to approach one of the dark alleyway entrances to get away from the eyes that were all fixated on the two of them.

As they walked into it, their backs disappeared in the darkness.

"What are you doing?"

Asked Thirteen as he saw Jin emit a bit of electricity around his legs.

"This is a new trick that I learned a while ago."

Answered Jin with a wide grin on his face, proud of his achievement.

Touching the two sides of the walls with his legs, the two points of electric currents began to reach towards one another.

Creating a line between the two…

Electric Tripwire.

A technique that Jin created while getting tailed by the machine-like man.

'Every good technique needs a name… what should I call it?'

He was deep in thought while Jin looked at his own watch to lead them toward the headquarters of the Liberation Front, the two of them had already called Natalie and Anna.

'I shouldn't ask Thirteen about it, he would definitely be a bother instead of a help.'

While massaging his chine, he began to think of a number of names for his technique.

'Should I just call him Lightning Tripwire?'

'Nah, that's too basic.'

Then, his eyes wandered to Thirteen, maybe he is going to be better with names.

"Thirteen, help me come up with a good name for this tripwire move."

At his request, Thirteen stared at Jin without a change in expression, his look was bland.

"What? A good move needs a good name."

Thirteen still said nothing, his stare began to burn a hole in Thirteen.

"Just say something, you bastard."

And just like that, Thirteen's blank expression broke, as if he had broken out of a spell.

"Sorry, I was thinking, what about Zap Trap?!"

It was Jin's turn to look at him dumbfounded.

"No chance."

"It's not like you ever had a good name popping into your mind."

Remarked Thirteen while huffing.

"You know what, damn you, I can get a good name even without you."

Thirteen just stared at him, and neither of them stopped moving.

"Okay Jin, of course, you do."

Chuckled mockingly Thirteen while switching his gaze back to his holographic watch.

"Okay, Volt Vine?"

Asked Jin, sounding proud of his naming skills, but Thirteen was not at all in the same line of thought.

He was amused before everything else.

"You are so right Jin, you truly are better than me when it comes to naming things, you are so good at this Jim."

Mentioned Thirteen sarcastically to Jin.

"Screw you, this is what I'm going with!"

Thirteen rolled his eyes before looking at his watch.

"Jin, It's time."

Said Jin, the two of them got close to their destination.

The bickering between the two stopped like they were never even doing it.

What remained were two figures, resembling the demons of the forest inside the Tenth District.

A concept so foreign that it was mocking at one point.

None of them drew their weapons but both of them were heavily armed, able to defend themselves in the worst situations without problems.

Son, thanks to the watch on Thirteen's hand, they reached a lonely, dark, and seemingly unimportant spot in the dark alleyways.

Yet, from this seemingly unimportant spot, four figures showed themselves.

They wielded automatic machine guns, clad in light military desert-colored clothing. Their mouths were covered as well by the same color-schemed bandana.

"Thank you for coming."

Said one of the Liberation Front soldiers, lightly nodding his hand in an expression of respect.

Jin and Thirteen in their demonic mask did not say a simple word yet still nodded back.

"We are leading the two of you to our leader, she wanted to talk to Mr. Jin. While our hacker wanted to talk to the esteemed Twelve."

Thirteen glanced at Jin, almost in anger at his poor choice of a fake name, while Jin looked away.

'Yeah, maybe I messed up, but you didn't suggest any good fake names either, so stop bothering me,' Jin thought, resisting the urge to say it out loud.

They needed to maintain a certain image in front of the Liberation Front.

What tool would offer itself to an unworthy master?

None.

That's why they needed to be worthy masters.

And in this moment, they needed to prove that they were going to be the worthy masters of the tool with the largest potential.

The Liberation Front.
