Chapter 25: First Day at the School

My gifts were a success because everyone liked them, with the exception for my father; he was the one who gave me money, but I didn't buy him anything because I forgot, but I promised to bring him something later, but I still received praise for others, and Luna and Seraphina began learning basic defence skills, and now everyone is back at work, and our lives are slowly returning to normal.

And I was simply waiting for my class to begin because it was under void organisation, and they could really help me become strong fast and give me some answers that had been bothering me for months.

After a few weeks of daily training with my katana and alchemy, my eagerness faded as our class began, and I had no idea what to anticipate this time around because I would be the strongest there, but I don't think it will mean much to them, but I still have a feeling this will be nice.

On the first morning, our parents dropped us off at school. As we approached the entry, my mother turned to me and said, "Dajit, take care of both of your sisters."

"Yes, I will," I replied with a broad smile and a confident tone.

Yes, my parents have consented to accept Seraphina as my second sister, making her the third and second adopted child to them. They sort of surprised all of us by taking us to the priest and saying we were going for prayer, but later we learnt that seraphina had been adopted, and even seraphina began crying as a result of my parents' surprise.

But, in the back of my mind, I kind of expected it given my parents' past records, and I'm not opposed to it because the prospect of being together makes the family more than just blood.

She hugged each of us warmly before leaving, saying, "Behave well on your first day." "Make sure you stick together."

"Yes, mom. I will," and then we moved in because it was getting pretty congested with everyone coming to drop off their kids on the first day of their school.

It was an important day for us. My parents had only chosen yesterday to accept Seraphina, and everyone was really happy about this decision.

As I watched them drive away, I pondered what kind of terrible luck skill my parents possessed that resulted in all three of their offspring being enormous disasters for their futures and lives—one of whom was their own. The thought persisted in my head as we entered the school.

There was no elaborate arrival ceremony. We were admitted directly to the academy and assigned to classes during admission itself after a written test. I was placed in a top class as I already understood how to talk, read, and write and could learn easily. Seraphina was in a basic class, whereas Luna was in a class for students with special needs.

I sat in the corner of the room and observed. The majority of the people were beasts, with only a few humans and two nagas. There were no elves because they are such a restricted community. 

Some of the kids looked advanced for their age; their auras were stronger and more evident because I am level 2 and I know how to use Starforce vision.

Both of the Nagas girls appeared to be as strong as the one commoner kid and a beastfolk guy, and some of them looked scared, as one would anticipate in a school.

In general, nagas and dragon species comparatively on that good term, as both believed that they were ancestors of dragons. One dragon looked like a snake with no wings to fly, allowing them to swim through water and air, and was the ruler of the seas, the sky, and the nagas of the current age.

The dragonic species believed that the dragon was more like a lizard, as they had four useful legs on which to stand and a wing to fly, which ruled the sky and land, but there were common points too, like both of them accepting the possibility of one having a horn and more than one head in some ancient image depictions.

However, there are some clashes on the competitive scales regarding which dragon is superior to the other. Occasionally, each state holds competitions for their stars to be superior and to find talented commoners, but certain restrictions are in place, such as a duke or royal family can't accept someone of the other stars within their forces, as this is done to keep the family in balance. As I was thinking about these things. 

A instructor entered with a box in his hand and said,

"Hello, everyone. My name is Edward. I am the literature teacher, but don't worry; I won't be teaching you today. You just need to socialise with everyone."

He paused for a minute to open the box and moved to the scared kids.

"Don't be scared on your first day. We have arranged chocolates for everyone. So, come here one by one, tell me and the class your name, and take a piece of chocolate for yourself."

After a few minutes, it was my turn. I approached the teacher and said while facing the class, "My name is Dajit." His eyes widened when he heard my name.

To hide his grimace, he said, "Oh, Dajit, such a wonderful name! "What does it mean?"

"Dajit means all conquer."

"What a lovely name. Could you please stand by me for a while? Though it was strange, he had one more kid stop here, so I gave him a nod and stood next to it.

He then distributed the remaining chocolates before leading us to the principal's chamber. The hallway was long and lined with photographs of former principals, their stern expressions following us as we walked.

The principal's office stood at the end of the corridor, behind a wide door with a brass nameplate reading "Principal Astoria." Edward gently knocked before opening the door and ushering us in while he stopped outside.

The instructor came to a halt outside the door, and when I and that kid entered, we noticed the principal with two people dressed in white cloaks, giving me deja vu.
