Since Kara was able to talk about what had happened that night, James thought that she must have overcome her fear.

To verify his thoughts, he brought her to the study, turned off the lights, and observed her reaction.

Now, her little fingers were trembling as she hugged him and buried herself in his arms in fear. She was even shivering when she spoke.

Judging from her reaction, she was still haunted by the disaster that night.

"Kara, it's okay. Open your eyes slowly. You'll be fine after you get used to the darkness."

He tried his best to persuade her and patted her back while encouraging her.

But Kara's eyes were tightly closed. She kept dodging.

"Uncle James, did you do this to me on purpose?"

"Kara, I'm sorry to let you face the danger alone."

Now that she had figured it out, James didn't want to keep the secret. He scooped her up to hold her at eye level.

"Look at me, Kara. I will face the darkness with you."
