Twisted Destiny: The Alpha King's Mate

I walked over to the balcony of the building unable to sleep. It was the middle of the night but I was kept awake by the nightmares that haunted me.

It was hard to fall asleep with the howling of creatures in the night. Hearing them made my heart boil with anger, I wanted them gone.

All had to die.

Watching the city, it was weird how lively the place was at night. The bright lights eliminated the darkness of the night making it easy for people to move around as much as they wanted.

The streets were filled with people going and coming, almost as though they were children of the night going about their business.

My body tensed when I heard yet another howl coming from the east of the city. There was a big forest there that was known to host creatures cursed by the moon.

I hated the sound of those damn creatures. They were monsters who needed to be eliminated from the surface of the earth and I will make sure that I send them all to hell.

Don't get me wrong I am not a baseless hater, but vengeance is what drives me. All I want is justice for everything that they have done to me and my loved ones.

I have trained my whole life for this opportunity. To this point where I am strong enough to kill those creatures. Some say that they have a soul but based on personal experience, I highly doubt that.

They are inhuman creatures who take the form of humans to blend into society. That doesn't mean that they are anything close to understanding human emotion or feeling.

To them we are most food or toys for their pleasure, torture and killing are in their blood. Cruelty runs in their veins and it can't be helped. I just wish that I can complete my mission and rid the world of these creatures.

Werewolves. They are the curse of humanity but for some reason, humans think they are cute. To tell you the truth, real werewolves are nothing like the ones you see in movies or read about in novels.

They are violent creatures who enjoy seeing humans suffer. They thirst for blood and raw meat and they're favorite happens to be human meat. They are aggressive and lack a sense of control.

That is why they have to go. You must be wondering what I am going on about and why I am being bitter. Well, you should know that the world I live in will make any man or woman bitter.

And yes, werewolves are real. They exist side by side with humans and live among us in the shadows. During the day, most of them dress up in suits and cute dresses and go to work as humans do.

It is only in the night that they take their true form, that is for those who can transform at will. For those who can't, they turn on the night of the full moon.

For the last eight years, the growth in their number has shot up more than necessary. Human being turned and others born, the government suspects that they are planning some sort of attack on humans. But with no knowledge of the identities of the werewolves, it is hard to get some answers.

But I have found a way. A name to be exact of the Alpha of the demon pack. The Silverins. With this, I intend to make my way into their pack and win my way into his heart.

When I have won him over, I will use him and all the knowledge that I will learn from him to get rid of all werewolves.

The talk in the shadows is that he is a true alpha. He had won his way into being alpha without having to kill someone for the title.

I would be proud that he didn't use violence to get things done if it weren't for the fact that he was the devil incarnate. The alpha is known for being merciless and unforgiving. He is brutal and very dangerous.

He reigns over all the other packs. They pay tribute to him as he forces them to call him king. He is on the top and if I need to get rid of all the werewolves then the plan is to get him.

He must have a list of all the werewolves packs and the members of the pack to keep an eye on them. So bagging him is like getting all of them. He is the most important part of my plan and once successful, I can sleep peacefully.

But the problem is that no one knows what this alpha looks like. He never goes to any gathering nor makes his appearance known to others.

Some say it's due to the curse of the moon. They say that the moon goddess is punishing him more than others. For reasons nobody knows. All they say is that apart from being cursed to be a werewolf he is bearing another curse along with it.

Serves him right for all the harm that he has caused to the world. If it were up to me, I would wish for him and his kind to die and leave the face of the earth forever.

The world has enough problems as it is, they don't need them to add to it.

I almost forgot to introduce myself in all this talk. I am Nathaniel Dark, a werewolf slayer. That is my job, I accept contracts to kill werewolves, and sometimes I do it just for fun.

Creatures like them should not have existed in the first place so I am just doing the world a favor by getting rid of them. And I get to make a lot of money out of it so it's a win-win situation for everyone.

Tomorrow is the day that I plan to set my plan in motion. It is the moon harvest festival. A festival among werewolves in which they all gather under the moon in their true form and get a blessing from the moon goddess.

Some say that in this festival the goddess reveals to them the name and face of their mate and since the demon king is unmated. He will have to go for the harvest.

This festival comes only once in six hundred years so missing it was not an option. The goddess is not so generous that she would give such an honor all the time.

"The Demon King will be mine," I sighed.
