The Road to Hell 4

Kissenn moved her blade away after cutting down the monster's footing, It fell backward, and the blade on her shoulder moved up, causing yet another cut through it, and more blood fell before it was burned up.

As a final move, Kissenn drove both of her blades through the monster's body, one at its chest, and the other at its head, as flames spread from the blade, and through the creature's body.

It burned up. Kissenn fell on her knees, the flames around her body vanquishing, as her blood got colder, and so did her adrenaline and heart.

In a second, her vision got nauseous and dark.

The lightness in her body called her to the same deep, deep abyss of before, but there was no flame to keep the calling away.

Blood came from her mouth in the form of a red puke. Without ceremony, her body fell to the side.

There was no energy left in her.

The tip of her feet chilled to her bone, her eyes heavy, her lungs still, as if refusing to breathe.

The abyss around her soul was almost like a heavy, wet, and cold blanket.

The floor had become a dark, starry void. A strange deja vu within her chest.

'I have seen it before?' Strangely, the void felt familiar to her, as did the cold. It was not haunting, or scary.

Kissenn felt at peace as if she had come back to where she belonged.

It was inviting, almost like home… A home she couldn't remember, but if she had to guess, the home was like the abyss awaiting her.

"Not yet… not yet…" Ellianor whispered as he dragged his body across the room. his sword was the only thing that helped him stay.

He had felt half of his face be crushed by the monster's attack, and both legs twisted by it.

One of his arms was mangled beyond recognition, and he was sure many of his ribs were broken and were currently piercing his lungs.

His body was wrecked by pain, and in a literal sense, he did his best to reach Kissenn.

Deep in his heart, he felt that she was crossing over the ledge, her life was ending, and he knew that the voice would come back and end his life right there.

He couldn't let it happen.

Kissenn also saved his life, and had his back, even if she didn't know who she, or him for that matter, were.

To try and save her life, or be by her side,e was the least he could do.

And so, he dragged his body.

Ellianor dragged his body, always telling himself the greatest lie that it would take only one more step, and she would be reached by one more step.

As he walked, the damage done to him worsened, his wounds expanding with the physical effort he pushed on his body.

An effort that it couldn't accommodate in its current circumstance, but it was what he needed to do, as a person, as a man, as someone forced into a place and situation beyond his understanding.

Like her.

His blood fell on the ground, a bloody trail beneath his footsteps. Ellianor knew that it was a matter of time before it would become a problem for his broken self. A matter of time it was…

He tripped over his blood and fell to the ground. His chest ached with pain, it clenched, but that only added more pain to his lungs, almost drowning in his blood at that point.

There was no longer a matter of how many steps.

It was a matter of how many yards he could drag his body across now.

Ellianor took Testament, and held it with his mouth, to free his arm, refusing to let go of his only weapon and defense in that state.

As meek as any defense he placed would be in his state. With his remaining arm, Ellianor dragged himself across the ground, in hopes that it would not be too late for Kissenn.

That he could change her fate, and save her from death. It was childish, almost pitiful to nurture such thoughts in his state, but Ellianor couldn't stop, not now. She did not stop for him.

It was a matter of pride.

A slow process that made his organs feel as if it was dragged across the floor, his lungs burned, and he was almost drowning in blood with every inch he made toward Kissenn.

It was a strange question, a strange situation between the two.

Who would die first? Who would succumb to their wounds first? There was no way to know, and Ellianor was sure his death would be signaled by the ending of the pain across his body.

Until then, he would move his body.

Kissenn felt Ellianor come closer, as he could feel her life waning.

'You… dumb idiot. You should stop moving. You will die if you try to drag yourself here…' It would be his death, either by the wounds or any corrupted monster that made its way there.

She gritted her teeth. He was coming for her, even if it was to die together, she needed to repay his kindness and last just a few more moments before the abyss claimed her back.

A hand grabbed her shoulder.

Kissenn opened her eyes, in the darkness and the void around her, only his orange eyes shone.

Or better, only one of the amber-like orbs shone. Ellianor tried to smile, the best smile he could make with the state of his body.

Ellianor did his best to shit, and hold Kissenn with his remaining arm, resting her back against his lip, while his trembling arm tried her upper back.

'If it is the end, let's go together, then.' The injuries they both sustained could be the end of them, sooner or later.

They had their deaths sealed if one came there, but at least, they would die by the side of someone else, rather than alone in this mess of a place.

Kissenn smiled, her vision darkening further.

"It seems I have found you, at last." A shadow loomed over them.

Big Bad Boss has arrived.
