A shock in the System 3

The red lines across the blade's body sparked to life, its stone-like appearance shone as if covered in flesh and warm blood, Ellianor's hand across the grip tightened.

The monster rushed, it leaped towards him like a frog.

Ellianor's body moved on automatically, his sword clashed against the monster's claws, but the creature moved its other arm, using it like a hammer against Ellianor.

The dark-haired man moved away, throwing his body out of the blunt attack.

The creature used the chance to push its claws against the sword, the dagger-like structures pushed far enough to make cuts across Ellianor's face, and blood spilled from his face and onto the ground.

Ellianor closed one of his eyes, the sharp pain burned across his cheeks as the blade flared red.

Ellianor pushed the blade forward without thinking twice, cutting the creature's arm in half.

The beast screamed, but it was not done, it kicked Ellianor in the stomach, putting a distance between Ellianor and his sword, and the beast itself.

His stomach burned, but Ellianor kept his feet, his gaze. His stomach and guts shifted because of the impact, a burning sensation across his stomach, as the urge to puke rose, but there was nothing to go out.

The creature rushed again, its armored arm raised, as the clawed one was but a stump at this point.

Despite the heaviness of its other arm, the creature rushed with great aggressivity, swinging the heavy limb like a mace.

Ellianor grits his teeth, his body pumped with adrenaline a will to fight, and martial knowledge he never had as the stone blade clashed against the armored arm in a loud impact.

Both the beast and Ellianor were thrown off each other, the impact serving to place even more distance between them.

Ellianor advanced against the monster, his body acting on its own as his eyes narrowed on the beast.

It noticed the change in their positions, and the shift in Ellianor's posture, raising its arm for defense. Ellianor's orange eyes scanned the beast, to see a place where the arm did not protect.

The arm protected the beast's torso, neck, face, and waist, but the legs were not protected.

The blade moved on its own, the light on it even redder, and bloodier. The creature screamed, a gurgling scream as its legs were cut off.

Its body fell forward, the weight balance completely destroyed, but the beast was not done, it tried one last attack with its bisected arm, flailing its claws against Ellianor.

The claws scratched him across the chest.

Three bloody red marks, bleeding warm blood as the creature left out a haunting giggle, but Elianor paid it in the same coin. The blade he wielded raised and beheaded the monster.

Elianor's pupils dilated, and his breath gave away as he fell to his knees, pushing the blade on the ground and using it to not fall on it, his hands on the blade like a lifeline. He was tired, deadly tired.

His breath caught, his heart raced, and his head was dizzy. "What… just happened?" For a moment it was as if his mind blanked, and his body decided to fight on automatic.

His chest and cheek bleed, but it was not profound or grave bleeding, not that he knew what a hemorrhage looked like, but he had the inkling if he was bleeding that bed, he would know.

"This is too ludicrous," Ellianor whispered. He was whisked away from his house, placed into a body that was not his, and faced to fight against a monster bent on killing him.

It was not how he expected to spend his night.

[AYE, AYE. I GOT IT. BUT WE ARE NOT DONE YET. I NEED YOU TO GO BACK TO THAT CORRIDOR, AND PROCEED. DO WHAT YOU ARE TOLD IF YOU DON'T WANT TO DIE]

Ellianor grunted as he used the blade to get up, his racing heart left his heart and body light. With great dizziness in his vision and a sickening nausea, Ellianor looked at the ceiling, as if it would get his voice to be heard by that thing in his head.

"What is wrong with you? What is wrong with this place? And me? Nothing of this makes sense." Ellianor asked between tired breaths and short gulps for air. The voice giggled.

[YOU DO NOT NEED TO KNOW WHAT I AM, OR WHAT I AM DOING. JUST KNOW THAT THE PLACE YOU ARE IN IS DANGEROUS AND THAT YOU NEED TO ESCAPE IT ASAP IF YOU WANT TO SURVIVE]

Ellianor gritted his teeth, before he looked at the creature, turning its body over with the help of the sword. It looked mutated, brutally so, far beyond what its original form should be.

The few parts without mutations were its legs, covered in the purple goo, but still human in appearance, and parts of its torso.

His mind was able to draw uncomfortable parallels between its form, and that of a normal person...

"What is that?" Ellianor kneeled and pulled something out of the monster's corpse.

It was a work badge. "Simony Wilson. Secretary…" Ellianor paused for a few moments to stare at the monster. "Was it human before?" It was sickening to look at it, and how twisted it was.

The only trace of humanity was part of its torso, legs, and the barest hints of her old clothing.

'What caused those mutations?' With a glance down at his chest, he had to ponder if it was transmitted by wounds and bites…

[NO, IT IS NOT. YOU ARE LOSING TIME. MOVE OUT! GO GO! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!]

The voice roared in his mind, but Ellianor took time to see her clothes a last time, turning her corpse to see a pocket, he verified the pocket and withdrew a card from it. "Security card…"

The rest of the card was blurred with the purple substance.

'It is a security card, anyway.' He placed the badge over the beheaded corpse, and took the card with him, returning to the big room.
