Chapter 17 A God

Amias looked at Jane from the side. He wanted to know her reaction. But what he saw surprised him. Jane did not seem to dislike having brothers and sisters, Amias thought his intuition and eyes deceived him. 'Are Jane's eyes sparkling with excitement?'

"You are not angry?"

"No, only a little bit at dad." Jane answers offhandedly. Amias's eyes widen. "What do you mean?"

"Well, from what I can see you guys are only some years older than me and my brother, correct?" Amias nods. "Then, dad was with us our whole lives till now. Did he at least visit you guys?"

Amias couldn't find the words to speak. Jane was angry at her dad for the thought her father didn't have any time for his other kids. "You know for the people of this world dad can be categorized as a literal god." Amias said in a matter-of-fact tone.

"When you and your brother were in school or out having fun with your friends he would always come to us." Amias shrugged like it wasn't a big deal.

"But in our early years, he was with us the whole day." Jane says.

Amias smiles. "There is always night. Remember, a god, does he need sleep?"

"Mhm, I guess you're right. When I saw dad in his true form and stepping into the air in the middle of the road, while the world slowed down and time stopped. I was really amazed and shocked." Jane says thinking back to that extraordinary scene.

"But what about you, Amias? Are you not angry?" Jane asked curiously.

Amias looked shocked by this question. "What? No! You and your brother are the children of the first and main wife. I am just the child of the third wife. That father has even some attention for us is a blessing for us. You know we are pretty satisfied with how things are right now."

"Well said Amias. You understand the hierarchy of the Demon World very well." Like scared little kittens, Jane and Amias jump and turn around to find Adramalech standing behind them.

Amias fell to one knee and bowed his head. "Thank you, father." Jane looked a bit weirdly at Amias, wondering why he would bow.

"As a leading figure of the Demon World, very talented and powerful. It is expected of me to have a successor. Of course, this successor would be of my offspring." As Adramalech said this a flash of anger appeared in his eyes. But just as fast as it had come it went.

"I have 8 lovely wives, one of each Demon Clan and your mother, Jane."

"Oh, really!? I want to meet them." Jane exclaimed loudly. "You will, in a little bit, but first." Adramalech gestured for Jane to look out the window again.

There she saw that everyone had woken up. It was chaos. Many yelled and hit the barrier surrounding them. Others were disoriented and on the brink of going insane, sitting on the ground with their head in both hands mumbling incoherently.

Of course, there were also those who stayed calm and waited patiently. Just looking at the chaos around them or just trying to block it out. Some leaning against the barrier and others sitting on the ground.

"Calm down. Everything is okay." The voice of Uriel resounded throughout the massive hall. The people almost going insane thought they heard the most soothing voice to ever grace their ears. Instantly calming them down. The people making a fuss couldn't help but stop shouting or hitting the barrier.

In unison, everyone looked up to see a beautiful Angel standing in the air. Blazing red eyes, red silky hair, skin that radiated in a golden hue, and 6 red wings, looking like they were created by a god of gods.

Uriel observed the odd 8 thousand individuals. They are all looking up in reverence and awe. 'There are a little bit more than expected.'

"Welcome everyone, in the central tower. I know everyone is confused about what is going on. And I will explain. You know you all are different. Some are shunned from society others are revered as unseen talent. You all are special. Every one of you has an ability that this world spirit couldn't suppress. That is why you all are chosen and brought here."

Nobody said a thing. No one wanted to say a thing. No one wanted to interfere with the Angel talking to them. They all wanted to hear the beautiful Angel talk. Their minds registered the information, they understood what she was talking about. They just wanted to hear the Angel continue talking with her heavenly voice.

What they didn't know was that they all could understand her. She spoke in a foreign language, unknown to all of them. All of them felt a headache but they didn't care because golden lights kept falling down upon them, none the wiser that the lights were keeping them conscious.

"Before I am going to explain why your all are here. Are there any of you that don't want to be here and want to go back to Earth? Then raise your hand. But I have to warn you Earth isn't the same as it was before."

A massive hologram appeared behind Uriel. Everyone could clearly see what was depicted. Video's of the time of the world slowing down and staying in suspended animation are shown. The sprouting of towers in some cities is shown.

"As you can see time has stopped, for now. If you want to go back, you'll have to wait a month before you go back because the world needs one month to completely finish her transformation."

No one raised their hand. You would think at least someone would raise their hand. But each and every one of the people present know they were different in one way or another. They didn't want to go back to what was.

Some yearned for change, living their everyday life. Wanting something to change. Not following a pre-set path made up by the government. The desire for something different, something new burned in their hearts.

"Good."

Uriel raised her hands and grasped at them. Everyone felt something burning inside them. Then some transparent seals and runes flew from their bodies.

"Let's undo the seals and remove the suppression of the world spirit."
