Chapter 21

Dinner comes and goes and it's 9:30 pm, I stop practicing my maths and put on some cute shorts and cameo crop top, grab a Nike and his hoodie to keep me warm.

I wrap it around my body delicately but leave it unzipped, I jog downstairs and tell my aunt I'm going out for a stroll. She dismisses me and gets back to working.

The gentle breeze greets me and the stars rejoice at my appearance, I try to grab one but I realise I couldn't. I laugh and blush to myself, he's already rubbing off on me.

I reach the park after 20 minutes and I spot him on a bench gazing at the stars as always,

"Hey" I greet him and he turns to me,

"Hi Eris" his tone rather low,

"Is there a problem?" I could sense tension, he looked tired and sick,

"No I'm fine" he lies, "just been a busy day. Lots of clothes to wash" he jokes, he's been over thinking, the nightmare's giving him a tad bit of trouble,

"You can always talk to me about anything" my left hand lands on his shoulder but he was hesitant.

He didn't know how I would react if he told me. He'd probably think I'd call him paranoid.

"It's just that your beauty always stuns me and it leaves me speechless" he flirts, using it to cover up,

"Daylon don't. I just got here and you want me to chase you already" I roll my eyes, "can't we do that after an hour or two?" He laughs at my statement.

We talk about numerous things and I tell him about my aunt taking me in, he's happy but I could still sense this tension. Like he wanted to tell me something but he couldn't say.

It was evident in his eyes. In his movements. And anytime I looked into his eyes they were blue and not emerald, and maybe I need to see an optician because my eyes were starting to deceive me.

Unexpectedly he rests his head on my shoulders, I play with his hair and smile, I could hear his heart beat whisper to me, it was so beautiful.

"Are you feeling sleepy already?" My tone is soft and low, he nods slowly like a baby, "maybe you should get going" he lifts his head to look at me and pulls Me into a warm embrace, "I know you're troubled Daylon, tell me what's wrong" I hold him tightly,

"Everyone has problems" he begins, "even the rich. Just promise me you'll be with me" he holds my hands,

"I promise"

A shooting star falls across us and we couldn't help but look at it,

"God has stamped your promise Eris" he jokes, I laugh,

"I never break my promises" I look into his blue eyes that were once emerald, I've come to accept them, he laughs and yawns,

"Time to head back. Hope you're ready for tests" he smiles,

"I'm ready. Are you?" I poke him grinning,

"God is with me" his statement forces hysterical laughter out of me but at least he was being honest.

My alarm goes off and I get ready for school. I pick out some ripped pants, color black, a red long sleeve crop top and a leather jacket. I grab a black and white Nike and comb my hair. I put on some red lipstick and grin at myself in the mirror. Everything stuck to my body, courtesy of my aunt.

I text Debbie telling her I'll meet her at school and rush down for breakfast. My aunt was already rushing her food and checking her watch, she gulps down her milk and picks her bag,

"You're in charge till I get back. There's food and some money in my room in case you need anything, it's in the pillow" she grabs the keys of the house and throws it at me, I catch it, "it's the spare key. I know you're responsible and you won't do anything crazy. I'll call you when I've landed. Bye" she kisses my forehead and rushes out the door.

I hear her rev the car and speed off, I look at the house keys and slip them in my pocket, I eat my breakfast and head to school.

Daylon reaches school and his eyes dart around trying to find my body but he spots Debbie instead. He walks over to her,

"Morning Debbie" he greets with his usual charming smile,

"Morning Daylon" she greets him back while grabbing some books from her locker,

"Eris?" He asks, she smirks knowing him all to well, she muffles her giggles, "what's so funny?" He's confused as to why she was laughing at him.

She points to a figure approaching them and with one swift movement of his head to see who was making her laugh so hard he almost got a heart attack. The girl approaching him was so attractive that he didn't know when his mouth opened. It was as if she was moving in slow motion.

Her hair.

Her hips.

The red lipstick on her lips.

Who was she?

The girl pecks Debbie and opens her locker to put some things in it, she turns to Daylon and gives a gentle smile,

"Morning Daylon" I wink at him and close his mouth for him,

"Eris?" His voice trembles,

"Yes?" I answer him with a smirk on my lips, Debbie couldn't help but laugh, it was so funny to her. He starts to get a little control over himself after he stopped ogling at me,

"I like your hair" was the dumbest thing he said in his entire life and his brain was punching him for making himself look like an idiot,

"Thanks" I laugh, "shall we? We have Arts test first" I leave with my sister. He turns to see us leave and his eyes rest on my booty and he chokes on his own saliva, he coughs out as I turn back and playfully shoot him with my fingers with a smile on my face.

"Eris just made me forget everything I read" he gulps and runs to class.

It's lunch and I'm sitting with my sister enjoying spaghetti and meat balls,

"I missed this!" I moan at the exquisite taste of my lunch and roll my eyes in pleasure, I surely wasn't eating as pretty as I looked,

"Chill Eris, don't wanna ruin your look now do you?" Debbie giggles, "you paralyzed Daylon, he couldn't move or speak!" She laughs,

"He's not the only one, everyone's looking at me today" I roll my eyes,

"That's because you look gorgeous!" She exclaims,

"It's only for a short time, soon everyone forgets" I swallow, "how are your tests by the way?" I ask and move some of my hair out of my face,

"They've been great!" She exclaims with a smile on her face,

"I know they will be" I sip some water, "mine have been fine" I spot Daylon and Bryan dancing into the cafeteria like fools, they looked happy.

"Hello ladies" Bryan greets us with a smirk crashing his body right into Debbie's while taking a seat beside her, her cheeks turn a deep red as she tries to keep her composure, "hope we're enjoying the lunch?!"

"Yeah we are" I answer for both of us, I knew what they were trying to do.

"Too bad no one invited us" Daylon coos. He was towering over me like a wall with a stupid grin on his face, his leg on the seat and his elbow resting on his knee,

"What do you want?" I drink more water and Debbie could barely contain herself,

"We want to invite you to a party" Bryan blurts out,

"Who's hosting?" I look at Bryan and his look turns nervous,

"It's Lilac" Daylon admits, "but hey, no restrictions and everyone's invited" he states the pros,

"Sure we'll be there!" Debbie exclaims,

"I'm not interested"

Everyone's shoulders slump,

"Come on Eris!" He protests, "Lilac said she has no bones about it. Please!" He goes down on his knees in the midst of everyone. Debbie gasps and Bryan is just as surprised,

"Dude come on! Get the hell up!!" I try to pull him up but he's heavy,

"You have to come" he pleads with puppy eyes,

"I can't come, I'm busy" I lie, I didn't want to go to a party,

"Then I belong here" he behaves stone headed and stays there. Other kids start snickering and taking pics,

"Fine! I'll go! Gosh damn it!" I curse and throw my hands in defeat, he jumps up with his charming smile,

"Saturday, 10am till evening" he straightens his hair and takes his seat beside me, "it's a pool party so wear something nice" he seductively licks his lips.

I aim a punch at his face but he dodges it and runs away, I chase him around the cafeteria trying to hit him and making a show for others. Debbie and Bryan laugh at how childish we were being, he whispers something into her ears and she blushes, she nods shyly looking away.

"Eris I was just joking!" We were moving around an empty table as I try to catch him, he runs away to another table and I follow him.

As I try to hit him he does a back flip over the table and he receives a round of applause from spectators, he laughs triumphantly and when he turned to flee he slips on a puddle of water and lands straight on his back.

I burst out into hysterical laughter as he groans in pain, "you deserve that!" I laugh more but my laughter dies down as I realise he was still groaning in pain, "Daylon?!" I help him up and sit him down on a table, "I'm sorry" I apologize,

"It's okay" he groans with a forced smile, "it's just a little pain" the pain wasn't little at all, he just suffered a back injury,

"Let's go to the clinic" I help him up and take him to meet Miss Ashley.
