Monster Taming World?

Leonidas and Iris walked up to the Altar and noticed that it was glowing faintly with a bright white colour. After about thirty seconds of watching to see if anything else would happen, they got closer to it and put their hands on top of it to see of anything would happen.

As soon as they placed their hands on it, the previously faint white light burst into an explosion of colours without a single colour being missed out.

Out of these colours, two egg shaped things around the size of a football appeared.

One of them was pure white in colour with four red dots on it and two yellow dots. The yellow dots were high up at the front. Two of the red dots were either side in the middle and the other two were at the very bottom.

The other egg was completely black with three green dots on it. One of them was directly in the centre and the other two were around the sane area that the yellow ones were on the other egg.

"Woah, that was weird. What are these?"

"I believe that they are eggs and hopefully they will hatch into something."

"Are we taking them?"

"Well of course we are, they could be helpful. What one do you want Iris, you can choose first."

"I want the black one, I feel like I have a strong connection with it already."

"Well then, I will be taking the one I wanted as well."

After picking them up, a hologram appeared for both of them.

"Congratulations on being the first people in the world to clear a national dungeon. In case you are wondering, every country has a dungeon that goes down to the one hundredth floor. When some one reaches the bottom of the dungeon they will receive a reward based on how many people beat it before them. In your case, you will receive the best reward for being first.

You have been given eggs that will hatch into your very own monsters soon. You will use these monsters to fight wild enemies and other people's monsters in the world you are being sent into for the next part of your journey.

The world is a place where every person summons a monster egg when they are sixteen years old and the monster's strength determines how far they will get in life.

There are dungeons in the other world and there are wild monsters that reproduce on their own. The ranking system works exactly the same as it does here. However, people in that world only know that you can feed your monsters evolutionary material as their bodies are not able to consume them without exploding.

This means that you can continue to grow stronger while also making your monsters grow stronger assuring that you can beat a national dungeon in that world as well and move onto the next location."

As soon as they finished reading the hologram, the explosion of light happened once again and Leonidas found himself lying on a bed in a room he did not recognise. He stood up from the bed and noticed that the house seemed quite decent even though he was expecting a terrible living standard considering monsters existed there as well. He then remembered that his original world was getting a bit better though which meant it was not unthinkable that it could become quite normal again.

After thinking for a moment he realised that Iris was nowhere to be seen and nor was his egg. He left the room and walked down the stairs to see a man and woman he had never seen before sitting at a table eating food.

The man noticed him first, "Morning kiddo, come and have some food with us. Or are you too old to eat with your parents?"

Leonidas pieced together that he must have somehow been put into the new world by taking someone else's place and having the memories of everyone altered to make it seem normal for him to be there. He decided to play along and try to find Iris as quickly as possible.

"No I will eat with you two."

The woman who was supposed to be his mother said something very interesting to Leonidas, "The big day is finally here, you are going to get your very own monster."

"Oh yeah I almost forgot about that."

The 'father' was next to speak, "How could you forget? You and Iris have been waiting for this ever since you were young. It is both of your birthdays today so you will be summoning them when we go to meet her family."

"Guess it slipped my mind." Leonidas was confused as he and Iris had both been sixteen for a while now but he summed it up to the fact that they both took someone else's place in this world.

His 'mother' replied, "You better eat quickly because we are going to see them after we finish this food."

Just as she said, after they finished the food they went to meet Iris and her 'family'.

As soon as he arrived he noticed that it was most definitely the Iris he knew and she seemed to be going along with the scenario as well.

"Hey Iris, good to see you."

She noticed Leonidas and ran over to him and hugged him, "I am so glad you're here. I thought I was going to be alone. How come you are here anyway?"

"Did your 'parents' not tell you? We are summoning our monsters today."

"Oh, so that's why I couldn't find the egg when I arrived here."

Iris's 'mother' spoke up, "I have no clue what you two are talking about, but I don't really want to know either. What I am more interested in is why you are still hugging him, Iris?"

Iris only just noticed that she had not let go yet and quickly unwrapped her arms, "I just wanted to hug my friend, what's so wrong with that?"

Iris's 'father' butted into the conversation next, "Whatever you say, I was 'friends' with your mother once as well."

Iris seemed embarrassed now, "What are you implying?"

Her 'father' responded, "Oh nothing, you just seem to be a bit more than friends is all."

Leonidas found this all quite funny and wanted to add wood to the fire, "So I am guessing you would not mind if I took her off your hands then?"

Iris was in shock, "What?"

Both of her 'parents' also seemed shocked but her 'mother' responded with, "Well I suppose I could let you, but more importantly you two need to summon your monsters."

Leonidas asked a question, "This may sound strange, but what are you four's monsters?"

While iris stood completely frozen both physically and mentally, the four parents told him what their monsters were.

His fake father's monster was a honey badger with the Earth element.

His fake mother's monster was a silver fox with the ability to track down enemies.

Iris's fake mother's monster was a pig with the ability to find edible plants.

Iris' fake father's monster was a Crow with the ability to turn invisible for short periods of time.

"Is that considered good?"

Leonidas' 'father' responded first, "Not really, after all, apart from my honey badger's ability none of them are really suited for combat."

His 'mother' was next, "Our monsters are also not really monsters at all as they are just larger, more powerful versions of the normal animals. Most of the strongest monsters are creatures that are actual monsters and not just evolved animals."

"I understand, well how do we summon them?"

Iris' 'father' told him, "You just need to think about summoning a monster and the egg will appear. It is as simple as it sounds."

After iris calmed down, they both tried it and the eggs from before appeared in their hands.

"So how do we hatch them?"

Leonidas' 'father' told him, "It takes about ten minutes so just wait a bit."

After waiting for ten minutes, Iris' egg was the first to hatch. What came out of the egg was a greyish black monster with the head of a baby deer with no skin on its' head with it's skull clearly on display. Inside of it's eye sockets were two green lights. It also had no flesh on it's underbelly and had bones sticking out. There were no organs inside of the creature but instead was a green mist. It had arms that reached it's hooves and could stand like a human on it's long legs.

All of the 'parents' seemed to be disgusted with the creature but Iris' 'mother' asked her, "What ability does it have honey?"

"It can spread a disease that makes enemies want to cannibalise in a quick and efficient manner. It is also incredibly strong and fast with good combat abilities and high regenerative powers. It seems to be a Wendigo."

Right as she finished speaking, Leonidas' egg hatched.

The monster that came out was a small ape like creature with white fur. It had yellow eyes and it's hands and feet were permanently set ablaze but were not burning anything.

His 'father' asked him, "What abilities does your monster have son?"

"It has the Lightning, Ice and Fire elements. It can use the Ice element for manipulating the environment and mid range attacks. It can become invisible in snow which means that the ice element will be useful. The Fire element is obviously directly in it's hands and feet and will always be visible but will not always burn things. The Lightning element will allow it to increase it's speed and power and stun enemies as well. It has incredibly high physical abilities in all aspects and is immortal but can still be killed."

All four of the parents were speechless but his 'father' spoke first, "You must be joking right? That is way too strong."

"No, I am not joking, that is my monster's abilities. How long will it take for it to be battle ready?"

"A few days should be enough for it to adjust to you and this world and then it will be able to fight."

A few days passed where both Leonidas and Iris got used to their monsters and then went to test their combat abilities.
